Really good stuff here. The aroma is all right, but taste and finish are the best part.

Somehow aging this has thrown the balance out of whack and it became crazy hot and boozy. Not really that pleasant for my palette, absolutely no agave left in there despite a really light complexion.

Mexican release. 35% ABV. 2014 release. Nose: Huge butterscotch notes, secondary ripe fruit, agave and melon. A buttery nuance. Flavor: Oily. Butterscotch notes persist with vanilla and moderate pepper. An almond and slightly bitter undercurrent. Not terribly complex. Finishes with some floral notes and pepper. A bit of an off note in the finish and a little hot.

Nice bottle, aroma and mouth feel. Still has nice pepper from the blanco. Definitely tasting the wood, and not really caring for it, or the burn on the way down. I find this disappointing compared to the blanco. Buy one bottle so you can have the pretty bottle, then focus on the good stuff.

Fruity, smooth, a little sweet. Come back to this.

Aroma shows just a bit of agave and citrus fruit with a surprising amount of barrel. Not sure how long this is aged. Subtle agave aroma with just a hint of vanilla and barrel. Caramel flavor is sweet but not overpowering and quickly overtaken by spicy heat. Long, warm finish. Updated 8/14/2015

this one is a mess. ethanol dominant on both the nose and palate. oak is spicy and present on the palate but the agave itself is washed out by bitterness. also, 75 bucks? hard pass.

Pretty average for a barrel reserve. Not terrible at all but not very unique for a repo. Nose: fairly subtle - hard to pick up much. Little bit of alcohol, oak, and vanilla/caramel. Taste: signature repo - cooked agave, black pepper, and oak. Definitely notes of honey…maybe caramel too. Finish: Oak and alcohol leading to some cooked agave, vanilla and little peppery heat.

Heavy Vanilla / Carmel aroma. Thick and smooth to sip and great finish.

Can’t get many notes scent wise, very smooth and sort of flavourless and doesn’t leave much aftertaste. Overall a simple easy tequila that I have at home and would recommend to tequila non enjoyers.

This bottle has long been my good standard for a refined, complex, and thoroughly enjoyable reposado.

NOm 1559 bottle 281 4277 BR Nose is not overpowering w/ anything First sip def pick up pepper & agave. Maybe hint of honey. Second taste I can find honey maybe caramel, but def pepper up front. Pleasant finish. Solid reposado.

cooked agave, chocolate aroma. Sweet, boozy, peppery flavor. clean finish with a slight burn.
