The nose is complex, but light and almost more agave forward than the reposado. Intense barrel influence follows on the palate, which feels like a sharp contrast rather than a natural transition, in a way that I find interesting and enjoyable. Similar to the reposado, I bought this on a pretty good sale…and it was worth every penny.

Rated at a festival. It was good but not great. Maybe a more serious setting might produce a little better results.

A delicate añjeo that begs to served at room temperature in a snifter glass: amazing aroma and finish. This is craftsmanship.

Much more balanced than the Reposado, this is built to sip by a fire place and complain about Russia.

Nice. Light anjeo. Agave , caramel and slight fruit (apricot) up front. Slight oak in the middle, little citrus like orange rind and a Nice peppery finish

Okay I love this nose. Barrel comes through nicely but I feel the agave and barrel is split which is a treat. Pallet is very nice, easy to drink and pleasant. Slight bitterness on the finish but may settle down after opening in a few days. I recommend this. Also one of my favorite bottle designs

Nose: Light toasty oak and a subtle blend of barrel/baking spices. Hints of chocolate and vanilla nougat. A tinge of sweet vinegar. Ripe red fruit lurking in the background. Flavors: More kick here than the aroma promised. Moderate tannin and pepper bite. Salinity, caramel, and buttery marzipan. Bright agave fruitiness still on the front line. Finish: Silky mouth feel - but with a bitter fade.

Very good, light golden in color, this is Tahona, Copper Pot Still and quite well done. Roast agave with toasted oak notes of vanilla, caramel and a bit of aromatic wood. A cigar humidor in effect. Some oak bitterness initially but this fades to a semi sweet finish. Quite a bit of depth to the flavor as I would expect from production methods alone. Did I mention the bottles weighs a lot!! 4 lbs 7 oz is very heavy and costly to ship. I'll be interested in the XA when it's ready. #900 !!

Lighter palette than expected with nice agave note to start and a little heat on the finish

a light, agave forward Anejo. minerals, dried fruit, oak. a little more heat than I'd expect from a standard 80 proof Anejo. perhaps better for a cocktail than a sipper. not without merit though.

Received a sample from Agave Swappers. Aroma: barrel notes lead the charge, though they are faint and not too overwhelming. A slight aroma of agave. The appearance is also on the lighter side for an anejo. Taste: it’s a very mild anejo, which I always enjoy. Nothing is overly complex or strong, but it’s a well balanced expression nonetheless. Finish: short and peppery. Overall: I like it. Nothing sure what it retails for, but I’d definitely drink it again.

aroma of oak and burnt sugar. on the plate it's very smooth. feels warm but not harsh or much alcohol. velvety and smooth. flavours of agave and oak.

This is delicious. Aroma starts out oaky with agave barrel spice with an earthiness. On the palate it’s agave, oaky peppery earthiness with minerality that pops…you can tell a lot went into the process. 100 year old Tahona really makes a difference. The finish is very nice- agave, earthiness green minerality with a spicy oaky barrel pepper that lingers a few minutes.

Nose: grassy, earthy and sugar notes Palate: pleasing layers of cooked agave and mineral flavors Finish: smooth, mild burn San Matias Tahona is a good value for a sipping anejo.

Oak flavour, butterscotch notes, smooth, slightly more viscous, San Matias as a brand wait until the pinas are the right sugar content- more intentional with curation

The more I drink it, the more I like it.
