NOM 1480 | Smells good out of a funny teenie shot glass. Good flavor, not much agave but generally good for an after the Mariners game random seattle bar offering. Tasty finish but again, not much agave. I’m happy.

NOM 1480 | The aroma presents an overt sweetness intertwined with honey, oak, cooked agave, and penetrating ethyl, complemented by notes of cooked sweet potato, pine, cinnamon and sugar, vanilla bean, and faint ash in an emptied glass. On the palate, the experience includes cooked agave, banana, wood, cooked sweet potato, and bourbon/whiskey, with an off-putting saccharin sweetness. Additional flavors of plum, a vegetal tone, cream soda, cooked pineapple, lightly salted butter, and fruity notes with minute bitterness, cherry, and a minuscule dill tone add complexity. The finish is marked by the persistence of saccharin sweetness, fading cream soda, grassiness, freshness, and tangy citrus.

Not very complex, depth of flavors not very deep. It's okay

NOM 1480 | Very vanilla nose followed by some alcohol if you take a slow, deep inhalation. The flavor and finish are more vanilla with more sweetness. Not overly sweet but still more than it should be. This finishes with chest burn. Overall this is a one note tequila.

NOM 1457. 2008 bottle from the original NOM 1457 (La Quemada). Right off the bat agave forward with pineapple, nutmeg, cinnamon, chocolate, citrus, apple pie, butterscotch, almond, etc.. on the nose. Taste matches the nose for sure. Beautiful viscosity. Nice lingering finish. Damn good and complex masterpiece by Sebastian Melendrez who was the master distiller of the 1st Seleccion Suprema Herradura. One of the best añejos I've ever tasted til this day. Hard to find treasure bottle now.

NOM 1457 | Older Mexican 38% release, bottled March 2009. Dark amber color with some cloudiness present. Nose: Heavy oak presence. Burnt sugar, vanilla and trace cinnamon. Flavors: Wood, vanilla, trace acidity and bitterness. In retrospect, I think this was a bottle gone bad. I need to find another bottle and give it a revisit.

Nose: Oak and alcohol with a touch of red fruit. Palate: Sweet cooked agave upfront with cinnamon, baking spices, light oak, caramel, vanilla, and subtle earth/minerality. The flavors are pleasant but lighter than expected. Finish: Short, with a lingering sweetness. Thin mouthfeel overall. Sample provided by Agave Swappers Facebook Group.

NOM 1457 | Nose: amazing! Strong apples scents, citrus, caramel, cinnamon, earthy, and mineral. Palate: Vanilla, caramel, oaky, cooked agave, citrus, cinnamon. Finish: oak, caramel, and vanilla linger for a good while! Nice warm finish.

NOM 1480 | Oak caramel and vanilla with some pepper spiciness

NOM 1480 | Aroma: Whiskey, light oak, caramel, prominent undertone of alcohol. Palate: Dry tannic hit, astringent alcohol taste is a bit overwhelming at first. Fades fairly quickly to Vanilla and Carmel sweetness. fading to cooked agave sweetness for finish. Finish: medium, drying, fading cooked agave sweetness. Underlying briny/mineral bitterness that lingers from the initial taste. Not my favorite but, the mid palette sweetness and sweet finish notes save this sip. Better as it sits. Have to revisit as it is initial impression is disappointing for me.

it has an interesting spice finish almost like a fruit cake.

NOM 1480 | On the nose it’s not bad. Got some agave, a little vanilla but I did get a lot of alcohol. Taste was very underwhelming. It’ll make a good mixer

NOM 1480 | NOM 1480. Vanilla aroma. Good taste, a little burn on the aftertaste.

Burn's. Bitter. Not much good flavor.

Buttery. Baking spice, oak and a little agave in the nose. Very carmel with butter and vanilla in the mouth. A little smoke and white pepper in the finish. This is great for cold nights.

NOM 1480 | Fruit, oak, and agave smell, agave and pepper taste. Has a subtle bite to it but overall pleasant. Very quick and abrupt finish. Somewhat Herradura-ish profile but more mild.

NOM 1480 | I'm in agreement with the majority here. I thought I saw a review online that had this as an outstanding drink. I'm finding I'm disappointed as my expectations were set high. Don't get me wrong it's not horrible, but money is better spent on something else.
