“Appearance A beautiful light golden color in the glass. It holds nicely to the Riedel, forming defined legs without appearing overly thick or syrupy. Visually, it has a clean and inviting appearance. Aroma On the initial opening of the bottle, I immediately picked up vanilla, cooked agave, and caramel. I let the tequila rest in the glass for about 15 minutes before nosing it again, allowing the aromas to open up and develop. Taste The first sip brought caramel and vanilla to the front, along with a touch of butterscotch. As it moved across the palate, the sweeter notes gave way to a noticeable agave character on the back end. I really enjoyed that the agave wasn’t lost behind the barrel influence. Finish The finish was smooth and pleasant, leaving my mouth slightly wet rather than dry or astringent. A gentle warmth lingered after the sip without becoming harsh or overpowering. Overall Impression Nosotros Reposado strikes a nice balance between the sweeter barrel-driven notes of vanilla, caramel, and butterscotch and the underlying agave. The barrel influence is noticeable without completely taking over, allowing the agave to still have a presence, particularly toward the back of the palate. An approachable and enjoyable reposado with a smooth, warming finish.”

“Adictivo Añejo — Tasting Notes Appearance: Deep golden color with a rich, almost viscous appearance. It clings noticeably to the glass, with slow-moving legs that hint at a heavier, sweeter profile. Aroma: Very sweet and dessert-forward. Caramel and vanilla dominate the nose, and I don’t pick up much, if any, recognizable cooked agave character. Taste: The palate follows the aroma closely. Caramel is the dominant flavor, accompanied by a hint of vanilla. The texture comes across as somewhat syrup-like, emphasizing the sweetness rather than the natural vegetal or earthy qualities I typically associate with agave. Finish: Thick, sweet, and syrupy. The caramel character lingers, but I’m still not finding any noticeable agave on the finish. Overall Impression: Adictivo Añejo drinks more like a sweet, dessert-style tequila to me. Caramel and vanilla are front and center from the nose through the finish, while the agave character is largely absent. For someone who enjoys a sweeter, richer sipping tequila, this profile may be appealing. Personally, I would prefer more agave presence and less sweetness.”

“Appearance: Light golden hue in the glass. It appears fairly thin, with a lighter coating on the glass rather than a heavy or syrupy appearance. Aroma: Cooked agave comes through nicely on the nose, accompanied by vanilla and caramel. The sweeter barrel notes complement the agave without overpowering it. Taste: A nice agave-forward flavor on the palate, followed by pepper and a buttery quality that gives it a smooth, rounded character. There is a slight warmth to the sip, but it never becomes overpowering or harsh. Finish: The finish leaves my mouth pleasantly wet rather than dry, which I really enjoy. The flavors continue nicely on the way down, with just enough warmth to remind you that you’re drinking an aged tequila. Overall: El Tesoro de Don Felipe Añejo strikes a nice balance between the character of the agave and the influence of the barrel. The vanilla and caramel are noticeable without taking over, while the pepper and buttery notes add another layer to the palate. I especially enjoy that the finish doesn’t dry out my mouth. Overall, this is a smooth, agave-forward añejo with enough barrel character and warmth to make it interesting without losing what I want to taste in a tequila.”

“Tekiah Kosher Añejo Tequila — Tasting Review Appearance: A nice amber color in the glass. It coats the glass well, showing some body, but without looking or feeling overly thick or syrupy. Aroma: The aroma leans toward wood and oak, with subtle vanilla and caramel notes coming through. Nothing feels overly sweet or heavy on the nose. Taste: Light and approachable on the palate. The barrel influence immediately reminds me of a lighter-style whiskey, with vanilla being one of the more noticeable flavors. The overall profile is fairly delicate rather than bold or overly complex. Finish: Smooth and easy on the finish. There is a light whiskey-like heat that develops toward the back end of the sip, but it doesn’t come across as harsh. Overall: Tekiah Kosher Añejo drinks more like a light, whiskey-influenced añejo than a rich or heavily sweet tequila. The wood, vanilla and caramel characteristics are present without giving it the syrupy quality sometimes found in sweeter añejos. The whiskey character carries from the aroma through the palate and into the finish. For someone who enjoys whiskey and is exploring aged tequila, I think this would be a very approachable crossover bottle. For a tequila drinker looking for a strongly agave-forward añejo, the barrel influence may stand out more than the agave itself.”

“Appearance Crystal clear and brilliantly transparent, with a clean, bright presentation that showcases the purity of the spirit. Aroma The nose opens with inviting aromas of fresh agave, complemented by distinct mineral notes. A subtle hint of black pepper adds complexity without overpowering the agave character. Palate Exceptionally smooth on the palate, especially for a 96-proof tequila. Cooked agave takes center stage, balanced by a gentle pepper spice that provides depth while allowing the natural sweetness of the agave to shine through. Finish The finish leaves a pleasant, lingering coating on the back of the palate with a slight warmth as it goes down. Despite its higher proof, the alcohol is remarkably well integrated, making for a surprisingly smooth and approachable finish. Overall Impression Yeyo High Proof Blanco is an impressively balanced high-proof tequila that delivers exactly what many agave enthusiasts look for: bold agave character without excessive alcohol heat. The combination of cooked agave, mineral-driven aromas, restrained pepper spice, and an unexpectedly smooth mouthfeel makes it an excellent choice for sipping neat. It offers the added intensity expected from a high-proof expression while remaining refined and easy to enjoy.”

“Elvelo Reposado has a very light appearance with a thin body in the glass and minimal leg formation. On the nose, it offers a deep agave aroma with a subtle earthy note. The palate opens with agave, presenting a light flavor profile that transitions into a touch of peppery spice toward the back of the mouth. The finish is crisp and clean, leaving behind a pleasant lingering spicy note.”

“Appearance A pristine, crystal-clear blanco with nothing to hide — exactly what you want to see in the glass before the first sip. Aroma The nose opens with a bold, forward agave presence that wastes no time announcing itself. Underneath, a gentle whisper of black pepper adds subtle complexity, while a clean mineral quality keeps everything fresh and inviting. Taste The palate delivers on the promise of the nose. That signature buttery agave character enthusiasts rave about is unmistakably there — soft and rounded rather than sharp. What stands out most is the remarkable purity; this is a remarkably clean spirit where the water quality seems to play as much of a role as the agave itself. Finish Smooth and satisfying, the finish drifts gracefully to the back of the palate and lingers without overstaying its welcome. For anyone warming up to blancos, this is a textbook example of why the category deserves appreciation — the agave expression is at its most honest and unadorned here, without oak or aging to mask what nature put in.”
