“ A burst of baked agave, spice and dried fruits off the glass. The swirl of fruity notes triggers the redolence of ripe persimmons that wash away the rest. Caramel, chocolate and cherry finish the parade on the back end. The first sip holds that bouqeut of baked agave and ripe fruit like a crate of over ripe peaches sitting in the sun. But chocolate is the star that dominates from front to back, that starts and finishes in a flash of a 100 proof heat. Thick and astringent mouth feel and a quick burn no finish. You’re left with just a tingle on your tongue with a tinge of that slightly bitter chocholate and cherry. It's whispering, ‘that was fantastic, Let's have another’. You won’t find a better Tequila for 42 bucks .”

“An excellent Anejo I found at Costco for 33 bucks. Unfortunately the going price is about 60 these days. Carmel, vanilla, oak nose with medium dark color and medium body. Great flavor, nice finish with a bit of heat. The red box and test tube neck bottle are about the cheapest looking I've ever seen tequila come in. ”

“Blind taste tested. Candied agave oak nose, a very syrupy body, medium to medium dark color. Sweet sugarcane Oakey flavor, a lot of heat and spices on the finish. Not generally a fan of sweet tequilas, however this one definitely has a place as an aperitif. Interesting balance andI I like the bite. Note: square bottle.”

“Blind tasted. Very pale straw color. thin body, maybe a little oak, agave and alcohol. No surprise that this is a very thin, watery tequila with a light wine scotch flavor. Somehow it reminded me of a watered down CC rocks. The finish of course is nondescript. It's not a bad tequila and surprisingly drinkable, but at the $60 price point for Anejo's, it definitely does not fit in. Maybe it's sacrilegious, but I might try this one on the rocks.”

“Blind taste tested. Medium light color, medium light body, caramel, cinnamon, bubblegum and oak on the nose. Tastes of sweet agave, sugar cane, white pepper and cinnamon. There's a subtle charred agave smoky flavor like a Mescal. A smooth sweet smokey finish. There's a hint of smoke throughout and that's not something I find in most Anejo tequilas. My favorite Anejo of the night. Note: Brown bottle.”

“Blind taste tested. Sweet vanilla, caramel, high test nose with winey, scotch undertones. Light straw color with a medium body. Tastes of Agave sugar and again with the scotch undertones. A lot of heat throughout with a fiery white pepper finish. Very dry but the complexity points it out an an Anejo. Now that I know what it is, I really enjoyed this uncharted rye whiskey barreling. 90 proof And no wonder we call it quits after a glass full of this one.”

“Back in the day, this is all we would drink. That was in the classic brown bottle. Nothing around except for Cuervo, Sauza and maybe Herradura. They switched to a mixto in a new bottle which was pretty poor. Now they have gone back to 100%(again?). Pretty thin, not much bite, low flavor and very little finish. A great Margarita and mixing tequila and shots for your cheap seat friends:)”
