“Very mild flavors, not much presence when had neat. Innocuous, disappears in a margarita. Perhaps it’s simply not my style, but has and leaves little agave impression IMO. ”

“This comes in pricewise just above baseline stalwarts such as Espolon and Arette, and delivers more. More earthiness, viscosity and saturation of flavors. It totally works as a sipper or shooter, and improves, say, a margarita or paloma with more complex tequila flavors coming through, making it a perfect mixer where more expensive stuff would be overkill. Punches above its weight and should get more attention. ”

“Distinctive stuff, let's call it a breakfast tequila! Very light on the palate, but not without flavor, which favors citrus and floral notes over spice. Hard to get now, impossible perhaps, but a worthy and distinctive effort. Reminiscent in texture and body of Alacran. ”

“People flip for this stuff, but it's lost on me. Always looking for great value and this is often seen at $20, but it's astringent and reminds of lighter fluid. Thin, basically non-existent mouthfeel. At a similar price point, Espolon towers above it in capturing the essence and earthiness of the plant. For another $12 or so, Pura Vida destroys this. Ok as a mixer I suppose, but Espolon again is the go to for that that can live on its own as well. ”

“The tequila that turned me on to tequila -- am forever in debt. A balanced reposado with vanilla and light smoke, neither of which overwhelms the plant which comes through as herbal and slightly peppery. Pleasantly earthy as well. Have since moved on to mostly blancos, but this is an old friend always with revisiting. ”

“The best value in tequila today as far as I'm concerned. As clean an expression of agave as you will find at any price. Better blancos, of which I can think of only two, give you a bit more body, but that's it. On the fruity/floral side vs peppery, but well balanced an complex. A go to to open up the unfortunately ignorant to what tequila can be at a shockingly reasonable price. ”

“I'm a blanco guy at the end of the day and like more floral and fruity vs peppery, though earthiness is a must. Not quite up to some of the early Los Abuelos I brought back from Mexico, mostly from a mouthfeel standpoint (this is slightly less viscous), but spectacular juice nonetheless. Let's you know what agave tastes like in very pure fashion. ”

“I'm a blanco guy at the end of the day and like more floral and fruity vs peppery, though earthiness is a must. Brought back some bottles of this from Mexico over the years, and it completely fits the bill. Mouthfeel is outstanding, oily yet clean. This is a tequila with real soul that simply explodes in your mouth with flavors. ”
