Cascahuín Tequila Blanco - 11 Brix
“Nose: Rustic Cascahuin through and through. No hint of 53%. Deep, rich, wet stone minerality. Sweet honeyed aguamiel, a dash of rosemary/thyme herbaceousness. Palate: Wow. Quite the cavalcade of flavors. Honeydew, obviously cooked agave/honey, excellent roiling mouthfeel, a lovely hay quality (think chewing on sweet straw). It’s not quite smoked, but there’s this grilled component I can’t quite nail down. Finish: Lasting, elegant, round, buttery, and doesn’t ever become harsh. This is a top 3 blanco all time for me.”

Fortaleza Blanco
“Nose: Fine, solid. Very soft. Touch of herbaceousness, with just a hint of pepper. Palate: Super clean. Almost too clean, not overly complex. All the usual suspects when it comes to Fortaleza (slight mineral quality, deep agave, clean black pepper and touch of fresh cut garden), but lighter than usual. Finish: Pretty great finish, soft and long with a nice sweetness.”

Simplistic in its essence, yet filled to the brim with depth in those categories; deep rich minerality, cooked agave, a lovely bright brine/olive oil component, and just a whisper of green citrus. Finish: Surprisingly it has more ethanol than I remember, but by no means is it unwelcome. It reminds you you’re drinking an authentic spirit. Salud.”

Tequila D'Cortés Blanco
“The nose is pleasant, with notes of sweet agave and citrus. Unfortunately, the palate is uneven with so much heat on the finish, over the course of 3 or 4 sips. There is a vanilla sweetness that doesn't belong, yet also a green agave note that isn't normal.”

Siempre Tequila Plata (1438)
“Nose is irregular; vegetal in a medical way. Body is neutral to uneven, agave is present but tamped down by heat and a green, semi-cleaning product tertiary presence. Finish is hot, long, and not overly enjoyable. This is a miss for me, unfortunately. ”

The attack is awesome, quite a good bit of sweet agave (without being cloying), bright citrus too. Midpalate hits you with nice floral hints, and a dash of pepper. The finish is a bit cleaner than the 13, but it also hits you with just a TAD bit more heat, but it is by NO means hot. Absolutely wonderful, and with some bottle aging this will be just as good as the 13. Exceptional juice, and exceptional production!”
