“Absolute agave bomb! There’s some citrus, pepper, it’s vegetal and definitely can taste some minerals. One of the most traditional made tequilas with ties to the legendary Sauza family. At market price of $40ish dollars it’s an absolute steal! Recently it has been extremely hard to find, but even at $80-$90 I still find myself purchasing this bottle whenever I can find it.”

“On the nose I get agave, citrus, a little bit of mineral, and alcohol. On the palate i get agave, black pepper, citrus and minerals with a short finish. Nothing super special about this, but overall a well made tequila at NOM 1103 Casa San Matias. For the price being between $15-$20 this is hard to beat finding anything worth sipping or mixing at this price point.”

“On the nose I get agave, citrus and a little sweetness. On the palate it goes down smooth with a long finish. Mainly taste agave and some black pepper. If there are any additives it’s very light in the background as there is no oily mouthfeel which glycerin gives off, no oak excract/ caramel coloring in the blanco and there doesn’t seem to be anything overly sweet. Overall satisfied as a long time E-40 fan that grew up in southern Cali. To E. Cuarenta, Salud!”

“On the nose I get agave and citrus. Overall it’s not bad, get tastes of agave, citrus and minerals but overall it falls short due to the carbon filtration which is what makes it “smooth” and a bit bland. Overall a well made tequila and easily can be found anywhere.”

“I can mainly smell three things: sulfur, agave and alcohol. It has a very short smooth finish but the sulfur leaves a weird after taste. Only way I’d recommend this is in a super sweet cocktail such as an a paloma made with squirt. Maybe the sugars in the soda will mask this. Probably the cheapest “100% Agave” tequila you’ll find in the $10-$15 range.”

“An absolute agave bomb. Incredible sipper and for cocktails as well. There is some heat but drinks very smooth for being 110 proof!”

“Pure agave bomb! Great budget option, very easy to find in Mexico and the U.S. Makes a great sipper or a great mixer for cocktails. This is usually my starting point for additive free beginners at my bar.”
