NOM 1416 Tried this in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2015 during Superbowl 49 at $90 a shot. then we foolishly purchased a bottle for $500. just realized i hadbt rated it... back then, 2015, I liked sweet aged tequilas. (I liked the repo better than this anejo tho). today, I cant drink any of these sweet sugar bombs. flavor palate = vanilla caramel whiskey. no agave.

From just a taste standpoint I would think of this along the lines of 1942, lots of desirable flavors but little agave. The problem is at $500 a bottle this is difficult to justify this when there are so many better at a lower price point.

NOM 1595 | Had an opportunity to sip this a second time in just a short few months. I have to at $72 for 2oz pour, it’s a bit insane. This sips like a fine EA, caramel, chocolate, spice and an almost leathery finish was like no other Anejo. It’s not a sweet as the Repo which is a nice surprise. I will definitely enjoy again soon.

NOM 1595 | Just doesn’t taste anything like tequila, even Añejo’s that are masked by oak still taste more like agave than this. I would love to see a list of the additives at work here.

NOM 1416 | Less of the artificial aroma of the repo, but the heavy vanilla/caramel can still be found. This pour was very cloudy, apparently an artifact from this particular bottle. Again, same level of artificial sweetness, but with a slightly bitter finish. And seriously, almost $500? Ugh.

NOM 1416 | citrus and spicy nose. more pleasant Than its blanco brother. 2 second taste. orange, small pepper, small caramel. fast finish. great tequila.

NOM 1416 | Aroma of raw agave and anise. Flavor has strong, sugary sweetness (can this possibly be natural??) with a bit of spice. No agave flavor present which is a big disappointment in a blanco. The finish is short and weak.

Really good but way too expensive. So many better anejos at a third of the price.

Although the price is high for this one, I really enjoy this tequila. It's an all around experience, from the uniqueness of each bottle to the full aroma and taste. The taste and aroma have strong caramel, which I think gives it its smoothness for me and makes it a very good sipping tequila.

A really nice clean, fresh tequila plus the aged notes of oak, nuts, and some spice. I know there’s haters out there and yes it’s expensive, but the bottles are truly handcrafted art. I mean what else can you drink and sell the bottle for over $100 after? Overall nice to drink and a beautiful addition to any home bar. No doubt Clase Azul cares about what they’re doing and it shows. I think if not for the price it would be nearly impossible to find on shelves.

NOM 1595 | I had to have this gorgeous bottle. Really sweet anejo. This is the candy tasting tequila. What additives are doing this?

Mid body, ambar with ocre shines. Cinnamon, vanilla and a bit fruity on the nose. Oak, almond and walnut on the palate, a very fresh sensation for an Añejo. A good choice if you like cognac, has a similar profile.

NOM 1416 | Pricing of this bottle completely wrecks overall score. Not a horrible tequila. But properly priced, it is not. Would drink again if someone else is buying, but cannot recommend given pricing.
