NOM 1438 Another not great tequila in a pretty bottle. bought it back in 2013 but never rated it so here I am, rating it 02/2023
NOM 1438 | Really nothing to complain about or praise here, it tastes exactly like tequila that’s spent some time in a barrel. The good news here is that this is available in a lot of places due to the iconic packaging, this will do nicely as a familiar friend.
Rated blind. Better than I expected, but not really my style of tequila.
NOM 1437 | No bueno. Kind of tastes like vodka. Tastes very very processed.
NOM 1438 | Sweet, I suspect additives but kind of a cake batter flavor. Non tequila aficionados might like a lot.
NOM 1438 | Nice aroma, but overpowering cake batter sweetness in the flavor.
NOM 1438 | On the nose as the bottle was opened , a really nice aroma but scents were not detectable except for the cooked Agave. As it sat and opened up Butterscotch with a hint of Caramel and soft pepper coming thru. Tasting very smooth a rich flavor no bite and a nice lasting finish. Agave both raw and cooked coming thru again with a pepper follow. I like it very much and the smooth finish plus it was a gift from my Wife this is a good one… And I love the Bottle!!!!
NOM 1438 | 1438
NOM 1438 | Aroma - vanilla, cooked agave Flavor - cooked/sweet agave, caramel Finish - smooth, warm, the way tequila should be
NOM 1438 | The good: nice aroma, you can tell this was in an oak barrel. There is agave flavor here, nice ripe cooked agave. A decent finish. Pretty bottle. The bad: way too sweet for me. While I was drinking this I was thinking that if this was a bit thicker I could enjoy it on my pancakes. Not a complex tequila, other than sugar, agave, sugar, oak and more sugar, there is not a lot going on flavor wise. If you like sweet this could be for you. For me, there are other choices in this price range I would go to before this one.
Great
Bright nose with lots of oak and citrus. Very smooth drinking. The citrus, oak, and bright notes continue to the finish. Definitely a keeper.
NOM 1438 | Just one word delicious
Nice! Vanilla-pear body, short finish.
NOM 1137. First bottle of tequila that I purchased in Mexico City. Was in a nice display case with lights inside and a rack on top for 4 shot glasses. Decent tequila but palate has changed in since I last had 13 years ago.
NOM 1437 | NOM 1437.
Well made with good extraction of agave nice earthy and vivid complexity rich with full mouth appeal. Solid finish very true to style.
NOM 1437 | Great cinnamon finish
Tasted at Marriott Rivercenter Hotel bar in San Antonio, TX. Light pale straw color with a light nose of Agave, citrusy with a hit of grapefruit. First taste is very smooth, just slightly peppery. Fairly dry. I love the bottle. I was hoping this would be much better, but in the end, slightly disappointing. Worth a try and would drink again, but probably won't add this Reposado to my collection. Would like to try the Anjeo.

NOM 1438 | The aroma is not bad. There’s an initial burst of flavor that’s tough to describe… Possibly fermented cake batter. A little suspicious. Not overly sweet or additive laden but possible. Finish is ok.
