NOM 1438 | This needed time to breathe. Opening this up and firing off a few rounds was not enjoyable initially. Once this had aerated, the nose found anise, wood, cooked agave, sweet vanilla, light green apple, and a hazelnut-like earthiness. There is an underlying peppery ethyl character, along with wintergreen that brings a combination of sweet, medicinal, green, minty, fruity, and floral qualities. On the palate, wood and cooked agave lead, followed by orange citrus, anise, cinnamon, and wintergreen. A minuscule touch of brine adds another subtle layer without taking away from the sweeter and more aromatic notes. The finish is clinging, with wintergreen gradually fading alongside light pepperiness, wood, and a soft, sweet earthiness.
