Nose: Clean and honest right out of the gate. The minerals and lemon zest open things up bright and fresh. There's nothing heavy here, no barrel weight sitting on top of everything. The oak spice reads as fresh rather than deep, which feels like this isn't an overworked barrel or an extended rest. Then the agave comes through as raw fiber and cooked, which is a nice layering. You're getting the plant at different stages of its journey in a single nosing. For a reposado at this price point, that kind of nuance on the nose is worth noting. Legs: Stringy and quick but they stick. Palate: The cooked agave is present, warm and genuine. The buttery oak wraps around it without taking over, The oak spice is light rather than assertive, keeping the agave identity intact. The pepper is subtle, a soft background rather than a punch. Nothing here is trying too hard. Finish: Light but long. It doesn't hit you hard, but it spreads across the mouth and stays there. Overall read: Tapatio Reposado is a masterclass in restraint. It doesn't overreach. The agave stays the main character, the barrel plays a supporting role beautifully, and the whole thing holds together with a coherence that punches well above what the price tag suggests.

Nose: burst of agave, earthy and vegetal, with notes of black pepper, citrus, and subtle minerality. Palate & Mouthfeel: The high proof brings noticeable heat, balanced by vibrant flavors of cooked agave, pepper, and citrus. The texture is oily, full-bodied, and coats the mouth nicely. Finish: Long, warm, and complex. Lingering peppery spice meets bright agave sweetness, earthy minerality, and hints of citrus. Overall, a very good HP. One I definitely keep on my self at all times!
