“This review is for the Festival Foods bottling of this tequila. Aromas of smoke, pine, and herbs clear the way for light agave after opening up a bit. The flavor is medium bodied and somewhat oily with a fiery cinnamon spice note. This is followed by leather, oak, and baking spice. The agave is ever so light here. The finish is medium in length and possesses more agave than the initial taste lets on. I like this, but the fruitier character of the standard Reposado is a little more appealing to me.”

“Rich agave flavor paired with mild fruitiness and various baking spices. Great stuff, but not the best value.”

“Aromas and flavors of agave, citrus, and green apple. The spicy finish makes me think it's higher than 40% abv, but it's mostly well done. Good budget sipper. Edit: Had to come back and give an extra point to the aroma. The green apple note has grown on me since I've opened this bottle.”

“Dried fruits, oranges, cinnamon and light oak on the nose pave the way for oranges, cooked agave, black pepper, and tropical notes in the mouth. Like the Reposado, my only gripe with this bottle is the value when bought in the US.”

“Sweet nose with agave and raspberries alongside light baking spices. This carries over into the taste with some additional barrel notes like vanilla, oak, and nuts. The finish is long and spicy. The only thing I don't like is that the Blanco has such a great value but this doesn't (at least in the US).”

“Aroma : Bourbon-like caramel, vanilla, and oak aromas. Light orange note. Taste : Mellow cooked agave sweetness pairs with vanilla, cinnamon, and oak. Finish : Cinnamon spice wraps up the sweetness of the initial impression nicely. ”

“Aroma : Oak, caramel, cinnamon, and baking spices. Taste : A touch of cooked agave alongside notable caramel and oak notes that make me think more of an Añejo than a Reposado. Finish : Medium length with a fair bit of barrel influence just like the initial taste. Not bad at all, but I would like to see a bit more complexity in the form of more agave, or maybe fruit or nut notes. ”

“Aroma : Bright cooked agave, light fruit, grass, and black pepper. Taste : Medium bodied with agave, cinnamon, and citrus predominating. There are some undertones of earth and pepper too. Finish : Medium length with a bit more cinnamon and pepper spice. Good stuff, I'm happy to finally find a bottle of this.”

“The grassier character of previous estates is traded out for nutmeg and tamarind. Definitely one of the more unique bottlings. ”

“Aroma : Loads of cooked agave, earth, minerals, green olives, and cinnamon. There are some grassier undertones here as well with citrus and mint. Taste : Buttery, sweet, cooked agave with black pepper, cinnamon, earth, minerals, grass, mint, and a bit of salinity. Oily and thick texture in all the right ways wrap up the flavors together nicely. Finish : Long and warm with agave sweetness, cinnamon and green olives. Maybe even a bit of vanilla too. I finally found a Blanco to contend with Calle 23 Criollo. If you see this on the shelf, BUY IT. This stuff is amazing.”

“Aroma : Agave, apples, baking spices, and light oak. There's a bit of grassy funk too. Taste : Mellow fruits and agave are paired with light black pepper and oak. Finish : Medium length with bigger, bolder spice and fruity notes.”
