Aroma/Taste: Initially, the aroma presents musty olive and yeast notes, which are soon followed by the scent of cooked agave. There are also medicinal and anise aromas that come through, and on the palate, you experience a distinct mint and black pepper heat. Finish: The finish is somewhat harsh with medicinal and anise flavors, accompanied by a hint of solvents. However, it's not altogether unpleasant, as a touch of mint and cola lingers. Overall: Tasted blind, this is a solid tequila, it has a flavor profile that leans more towards peppery and savory notes, with less sweetness. I'd drink it neat, but would definitely use it in mixers (depending on the cost).

Blind TMM tasting: Distinct aroma I can’t quite pin down. Almost has some sawdust, leather, and sweetness. Flavors are more traditional with some sweet agave. Thin/short finish. Extra points for value.

From TMM Blind Panel- Aroma: Green juice- specifically celery based, saline, cooked agave, vegetal Flavor: Heavy sweet coconut, white sugar, cooked agave, floral Finish: Stays balanced, sweet, decently long. On the nose, I was initially turned off by the heavy celery notes, but I found myself wanting more. As it hit the pallet, that coconut was a unique and delicious flavor I rarely have in a tequila. Overall, I enjoyed this and could see myself pulling it out to show people unique flavors.

Quite possibly the king of the budget friendly blancos. Under 30 bucks for a liter? Worthy sipper! Fine mixer goes without saying!

Vessel: Chisholm Trail Jarrito Nose: Earth, Agave, Pineapple, Minerality, Citrus, White Pepper Mouthfeel: light to light medium viscosity Palate: Agave, Pepper, cinnamon, honey, thyme Finish: Agave, Earth, Black Pepper. Very light, very easy to drink. There isn't a ton of complexity, but the quality for the price is a force to be reckoned with.

Nice nose full of agave, easy going palate with some pepper on the finish and a very slight bitterness. For the price, this is worth picking up. Punches well above the class

Deep dark aroma. Thick and sweet vegetal flavor with a nice long spicy finish.

Nose: Earthy pepper with some light crisp character. Minor wood and caramel presence with elements of tropical fruit and citrus. Palate: Medium body with good viscosity. Lemon fruit with a spice backend. Tropical fruits, plum, and pineapple in the mid palate. Finishes with pepper and sharper citrus. The more I sip this, the more I like it. For $30 a liter, this is an undeniable great value.

The first time I rated, this was approximately 3Q24. I gave the sample an 86, including a 9 for value. Sampled again in TMM blind tasting in 2Q25 and gave it a significantly lower score of 66. This time I gave two zeros to drink again and recommend which is a 10 point spread right there. My notes in the second rating were: the aroma is high in alcohol and has a bitter note, almost like something was burnt. The flavor is similar. I don’t taste any agave, or any of the basic aromas and flavors that I would anticipate in a good, complex Blanco.

Puro Potro - sampled at Sabor LA 2024 Nose: grass, earth, agave, citrus, mild pepper Palate: sweet cooked agave, cinnamon, pineapple, mild pepper and a slight malolactic note Finish: short with a nice warm heat Other: Nice viscosity. I can't wait to make some infusions and cocktails with it. And, it's also a very easy sipper! Dustin and Everardo hit this one out of the park! What a great tequila. The nose is unique with agave and warm bread. Pineapple and other citrus notes. The taste is sweet agave and citrus. I get a touch of floral notes and honey. A little lemon and pineapple. Great finish. Nice viscosity. I tasted this this as a 2oz sample as a sample swap. I will be seeking this out to purchase. After getting a bottle, I have lowered my original score. This is still a big bargain.

A: Astringent, alcohol dominate, some raw agave and minerality T: Raw agave, some citrus and vegetal notes, but still reads harsh. Not a fan of this one. Even at the price point, I prefer others (e g. Zumbador, Cimmaron)

Value really kicks up its score here. Nothing pops out , otherwise it’s a very nice tequila worth sipping and mixing. It does have a mix of everything from earthy to citrus and pepper and cinnamon. More citrusy on the nose like pineapple than the palate. The finish is quite good white pepper and anise agave and earthy. For this price $25 1L. Forget about it!

LPPB0079, 0325, acquired recently, tasted on 4-27-25. Aroma: light cooked agave, raw agave, hint of metallic aroma with intense mineral notes, herbaceous, light acidity, after 20 minutes in the glass the cooked agave note becomes sweeter. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, mineral note is quite intense on the palate and retronasal, cooked agave note is slightly sweeter on the palate and retronasal. Finish is medium to medium long, light cooked agave with a hint of sweetness, hint of minerality with a hint of herbaceousness persists.

At less than 30 bucks for a liter and a sipper! It’s a very clean tequila that’s a phenomenal mixer at 42 abv but also a sipper.
