Lots of agave with vegetal and minty notes. Peppery with a thick mouth feel Surprisingly good.
I really like this one. Thanks Tequila Diva!
La Pulga 110 Añejo Sipping out of a Riedel 4pm no food prior. I recommend letting this open to lessen the alcohol notes. Nose: very inviting. barrel spices, caramel vanilla, dried fruit and some alcohol Palate: caramel, baking spices, dried fruit Overall: the nose is my favorite part of this expression.
La pulga 110 blanco Sipping out of a Riedel 3pm no food prior. I recommend letting this open, and the alcohol notes subside. Nose: cinnamon agave pepper citrus Palate: much like the nose - agave, citrus, pepper. Agave punch! Finish: light, warm, sweet and spicy. Starts slow and comes back around to a nice heat, as you expect from a high-proof tequila Overall: excellent expression.
With every batch of La Pulga spirits, tequileros in a remote village in Jalisco play loud Mexican rock music around the clock for three to six days while the liquid bubbles and froths.
At 110 proof tequila can tend to lose flavor to the alcohol taste. This tequila does a nice job of balancing the flavor at this proof keeping strong barrel notes and carry over from the Blanco mint. A nice addition for those that like reposado.
