Conditions: outdoor calm clean air, ambient temp 70 degrees, rested for 40 min in a Kenzie glass Appearance: hint of pale yellow against a white background, some legs present but disparate. Aroma: light to medium: freshness, crisp citrus and white pepper, slight sweetness akin to watermelon rind, or kiwi with some minerality. Taste: Initial: lively buttery sweetness with a honey blossom feel on the mid, transitioning into a fruitier spice as it warms— reminds of my mom’s stone fruit compote she used to make for guests when I was a kid. Finish leaves a nice contemplative report of warmth, spice, carmelized agave and just a hint of aged wood. If I didn’t see the color and was truly blind to this expression it speaks reposado with hints of barrel character.

This is a Blind Tasting. I detect a flowery / herbal scent, minerals, and light toasted agave on the nose. The taste is smooth, woody, and a little soapy (but in a clean, good way). This is another smooth sipper that appears to be aged longer. The finish is short, but mellows gracefully, as if influenced by aging in whiskey barrels. I like this one, but it’s almost too sweet and too smooth to be “pure.”

In the nose- orange and fermentation smell. A bit of vanilla. A swift herbal smell. Bread like smell. In the palate- not rich/ evaporates. Can hardly taste the alcohol.

Blind tasted in a Glencairn glass with another repo.First taste was after a fresh pour (sitting 1-2 min), then retasted after letting it rest 20 min or so. Overall impressions: this one changed a lot after resting 20 min or so. Nice expression. Easy sipper. Aroma: light agave, alcohol, a little oak, and a touch of vanilla. After 20min or so the vanilla becomes much more pronounced Taste: lightly sweet vanilla and agave, medium mouthfeel. Finish: short finish with mostly agave flavor. After sitting 20 min, the finish developed significantly. Much longer with more agave and a nice slightly bitter oak and comfortable alcohol burn.

R2. Blind Aroma has light agave and vanilla, caramel almost towards butterscotch. Good. Taste is full bodied barrel tequila. More caramel and some black pepper. Again, good. Finish rounds out the aroma and taste and stays lingering. Again good.

The aroma that came across here was butterscotch and light/blonde coffee. Light buttery flavors came out to play with a great finish that was enjoyable through and through.
