“This is tricky as I have two different LOTES (Feb 21+Feb 22) and they are totally different. For the sake of this rating will be for Feb 21. Clearly went malolactic during fermentation. Reminds me of one of Grovers LoteCito maybe Lote3? I have rated this so high because it is so unique. This WILL NOT be for everyone but those of us that drink tequila a lot this is a gem. Blue cheese on the nose big time. Not so much on the palate. Love this either as an experiment from Rene or an accident. Either way. ”

Tequila Ocho Plata Puntas - 2023 Mesa Colorada

“Best Blanco of 2023 IMO Absolutely beastly mouth feel. The fullest mouth feel I have experienced. Was stunned when I tried it with Remy. She sat back and smiled while I sipped it….she knew. The 53.1 is right in my wheel house but will turn some people off undoubtedly. Given the opportunity try it! Try it SxS with the 2021 Puntas.(also amazing) A real stand out in the HP category. FWIW second place goes to Volans HP.”

Trujillo Tahona (NOM 1605)

“NOM 1605 Tried this at an event last night. Not sure what the underlying flavor was but it was mint/spearmint. Not 100% confident this was diffuser and suspect it was not but surely artificially sweet, glycerin and some ‘non agave’ flavors present. Not your typical diffuser additives. Soft with cooked agave in there somewhere. Presented at 40% and would need to see it higher ABV for more detail. ”

Volans Still Strength Blanco

“Sweet and super spicy. One of my favorite HP’s. The full mouth feel is new to me this year but Volans doesn’t disappoint. Agave forward start to finish. Highly recommend. So glad I got connected with this bottle. ”
