“I was really impressed with this offering from Campo Azul. While this tequila is far from being edgy, it does everything well. 1940 blanco delivers a balanced profile that is very clean, crisp, and easy to sip. Both the aroma and taste are an excellent example of a highlands tequila. Very sweet, creamy, and fruity. This is a tequila that I would have no problem having on hand to either sip, mix, or share with friends - while not breaking the wallet. ”

“You wouldn't be able to tell it's a high-proof tequila from the nose and flavor - at least, I couldn't. The profile has a lot salinity, citrus, and a gentle amount of spice to it. There is, of course, agave and pepper. The agave comes through as more green and vegetal. Overall, it's a well-rounded tequila with unique characteristics. It sips easy for a high-proof spirit, but that's not generally what I'm looking for in this category. ”

“2022 - La Estancia. Not my favorite offering from the brand as I prefer a sweeter profile. While this batch still offers the signature Ocho taste and aroma, it does so with some additional bitterness that is a bit overpowering for my liking. Still an excellent tequila though. ”

“Very easy to sip; I could also see it as a good mixer. I don't get much on the nose and the flavor is also very mellow. It's a balanced mix of floral, citrus, and fruity. The mouthfeel was very good as it has great consistency. I would reccomend this to those starting/trying to get into blanco tequila. ”

“It shares a lot of characteristics with the reposado, which I prefer to this. To me, the smoky factor was less than the repo, while being a bit sweeter, but a tad bitter towards the finish. There is also additional oak influence. ”

“Wow, just wow! I was really blown away by this XA. Both the nose and the taste on this are perfectly balanced and delightful. This almost reminds me of a good cognant. Cinnamon, caramel, honey, prune, cherry, and slight oak make this a special occasion sipper. If you run across this, don't hesitate in getting a bottle or two. ”

“One of the best well-balanced blancos out there, that all tequila lovers should have handy. Cascahuín blanco highlights what a traditional, lowland blanco should be, while being reasonably priced. On the nose, I get cooked agave, pepper, celery, anise, and slight alcohol. The flavor follows where the nose starts with more agave and pepper, but I also get some bittersweet notes of pineapple and jalapeño. ”

“Just at it says on the label, this is quite a special blanco tequila. The aroma is what I would best describe as... mellow and balanced. In a way, it's very fresh and floral, but I agree with other members, that it also has a slightly smoky and funky profile that is Mezcal-like. Don't be mistaken though, this is still a tequila from start to finish - just a very unique one. Now, don't get me wrong, there's a lot to look for when nosing this, but the real experience is in tasting it. The first sip is just jam-packed and overflowing with flavor. On the tongue, I get a lot of sweetness from the cooked agave, followed by ripe lime, cantaloupe, and honey. I also get some slight pepper, licorice, and green papaya at end. The mouthfeel is not too thick, but it's just right. Finish is nice and long, and leaves you wanting another pour.. or three. ”

“Very easy blanco to sip. I can also see it being good for mixing, due to its balanced profile. Aromas of agave, mint, fruit, white pepper, and a bit of citrus (lemon). Flavor is crisp and clean; agave, pepper, a bit herbal and floral (if you could taste floral), it's also has earthy undertones. If you're looking to get someone into drinking blanco tequilas, this is a great way to get them started. ”

“I was very lucky to receive a sample from a good friend (thank you, Remy). Before sampling this tequila, I was a bit nervous. Having tried the other Suerte expressions, I still didn't know what to expect. Aroma: Oak, caramel, toffee, green apple, honey, and slight alcohol. I really like the nose on this. Flavor: Oak, spice, slight pepper, caramel, and still some faint agave at the end. Finish is on the longer side, but the flavor starts mellowing out somewhat quickly. Overall, a good extra añejo that's easy to drink. I wish, however, that it offered a bit more personality and complexity. ”

“You really can't go wrong with any of the Amatiteña expressions. The reposado delivers an experience that's unique and satisfying from start to finish. The reposado maintains most the exciting characteristics of the blanco, while adding an extra layer of complexity from the aging. The nose is filled with cooked agave, citrus notes, and a smokiness that I absolutely love. It also has some slight sweeter notes that remind me of honey? Can't quite pinpoint as I'm far from being an expert. The flavor is where this tequila shines. Cooked agave, honey, pepper, citrus fruits, and some slight smokiness that adds a unique layer of depth. The finish lingers and leaves you wanting another sip... or several. If you can get your hands on any of their expressions, you're in for a fantastic surprise. ”

“Lot 03, courtesy of Remy Newland. Wow, just wow. Where do I start? Take the standard Fortaleza/Los Abuelos, amplify the aroma & flavor, and you get Still Strength. Everything about this tequila just screams traditional. The aroma is perfectly balanced and is dominated by agave. As other reviewers have noted, the nose is briny (olive) and accompanied by vegetal notes, as well as citrus and slight alcohol. The flavor is filled with cooked and raw agave, olive brine, citrus, and pepper. To say that this has personality is an understatement. Just delicious. This is what tequila should be and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to try this.”

“Although I'm normally a blanco drinker, this is one of my favorite añejos out there. There's so much agave on the nose and within the flavor. The barrel notes do not overshadow the taste and instead compliment the spirit. In the nose, there's agave, cocoa, slight oak, spices, and fruit. The flavor is packed with agave and surrounded by honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter chocolate. All expressions of Tapatío are fantastic and deserve a place on every tequila fanatic's shelf. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out. ”

“As good as a traditional Blanco tequila gets. The nose is filled with cooked agave, fruitiness, and a clean vegetal aroma. The mouthfeel on this tequila is just amazing. It's thick and creamy, filled with agave, pepper, and natural sweetness. This is what every blanco should strive to be. I always have a bottle on hand and will never get tired of sipping it. ”

“While I'm a huge fan of all Ocho products, this just wasn't my favorite. Those that are into whiskey will like this a lot and will disagree with my review. On the nose there's definitely agave, but there's also some barrel and spice notes, as well as alcohol that dominate the aroma. While this expression is not as high proof as their single barrel añejos, it smells and drinks a tad harsher. On the palate, I get an instant agave kick that is then overpowered by oak, bitter chocolate, spices, ginger, and alcohol. The finish is long. To me, the chemistry of the tequila and the bourbon barrels just wasn't there.”

“Without a doubt, the biggest highlight of this tequila is the nose/aroma. It's hard to put it into words, but it's very fresh, and sweet. If blindfolded, those that are familiar with the brand's offerings will instantly know that it's a Cascahuín product. Instantly, you're greeted with a ton of cooked agave, citrus fruit notes, wet cement, and some cinnamon. There is slight alcohol on the nose, but it's barely noticeable - which is impressive at this proof. Two of my favorite blanco tequilas are Plata 48 and Tahona. 11 Brix reminds me a lot of both; with this expression having the sweetness and bite of the Plata 48, and the earth and rawness of the Tahona. The mouthfeel is medium; its not as oily or viscous as I had imagined, but it coats the mouth nicely. The notes translate well from the nose and the flavor is surrounded by agave sweetness, citrus fruits, pepper, and some slight alcohol heat. Out of all of the limited blanco runs, made by this brand, this is probably my (personal) least favorite. Both Aniversario and Cerro de Luz have unique smoky notes and pack a punch that's hard to find in a lot of tequilas. While 11 Brix is delicious, I would have a difficult time choosing it over 48 or Tahona. ”

“Wow, just wow. If you're looking for something that's as unique as it is delicious - look no further. I will update the review with notes later on, but this is some truly amazing tequila. A huge thank you to Remy Newland for introducing me to the Amatiteña brand as well as gifting me this bottle. ”

“Signature NOM 1123 nose. A quick whiff is enough to know that it's going to be excellent juice. The nose is crisp, mineral and a tiny bit lactic - you get some heat from the alcohol, but it's not overpowering. Once you take the first sip though... an explosion of flavors. Cooked agave, fruitiness, vegetal notes, and a long finish. Medium mouthfeel with character that leaves you wanting another sip. ”
