“A nice Repo in a bar. I like the blanco and Anejo better. It is not in the same league as Volans Reposado. ”

“Siete is always a great find in a bar. I have always loved the Anejo but the blanco is under appreciated. It is very smooth on the rocks consistent with Tahona extraction. I am at Sol Toro in Mohegan Sun with over 100 tequilas on the wall. Mostly garbage except for additive free el Tesero and Ocho. But the only additive free, Tahona extracted is Siete. ”

“Great Highlands Tequila. I enjoy on ice as a summer sip. Buttery Smooth, light bodied, balanced fruit, mineral, fermentation. I only drink tequila using Tahona extraction and additive free. Using Mountain Springwater and open air fermentation create a unique expression of a highlands tequila. Alto is like drinking a great Pinot Noir compared to Cascahuin Tahona Blanco which is like a full bodied Brunello. I also compared Alto to Forteleza, G4 Madeira, and Primo 1861. It will have a full time place in my bar as an equal among great tequilas. I picked up a case at Community Wines and Spirits in NYC. Alto Canto will quickly become a top 10 distillery. ”

“Just finished a bottle of 2024 G4 Madeira. I believe it is new recipe G4. Has some additional smokiness. Great fruit forward agave. I still prefer Primo 1861 which is a similar production. ”

“Bought this on Sip Tequila 20 off Cinco sale for $54. It is far better than Cascahuin Plata 48 by same distillery. It has nice agave sweetness. I like the regular Wild Common better. Taste is similar but higher alcohol content negatively impacts aroma. ”

“Tried on ice at bar in Las Vegas. It was smooth and good agave sweetness. It is not produced with a Tahona so it can’t approach the top tier. ”

“More of an Anejo than Reposado but definitely better than the Ocho Reposado ”

“Finished a lot 160 and opened this lot 158. Greatness in a bottle. At $49.99 buy and store as much as you can find. ”

“What is the point of a Cristalino? If you don’t drink Cristalino Bourbon or Whiskey; don’t drink Cristalino tequila. Nice bottle on the shelf. ”

“You want this to be better but feel ripped off. Why pay $80 when you can buy LALO for $42 or El Tesero Blanco for $48 that are far better sipping tequilas. This would be OK for cocktails if it was half the price. ”

“Spirit of the year. This must be a passion project for Chava Rosales as it makes no business sense. This labor intensive low yield pure Tahona product is magic. Sweet, Smooth, Complex. Like drinking a great Brunello. These great Master Distillers in Jalisco are disrupting the world of spirits. I did not like blanco tequila a year ago because I never knew a product this good existed. ”

“Tequila of the Year. Lot 160. Close your eyes and sip. Imagine sitting at Los Abuelos, smell the Agave roasting in the brick ovens and the Tahona crushing the cooked agave. Smell the yeast and the open air fermentation. I could not imagine getting all this from a tequila until now. More like a great Pinot Noir than a spirit. ”

“Nice blanco that is single estate. I would order over any celebrity tequila. It is readily available. It is a top 10 but not top 5 blanco”

“Nice agave forward with mild mineral made by Cascahuin. Better than Cascahuin 48 at less dollars but not as good as Cascahuin Tahona blanco. Could be a high value find at a bar. ”

“Fruit Forward with mild mineral flavor from the unique single estate. Best product from Ocho yet and tied for my 3rd best blanco with Volans Still strength. I compare to wine. This is like a French Cabernet Sauvignon vs Volans as a Napa cab. Bottles are numbered so worth collecting as at $80, it will easily double in value as 2023 sells out. ”

“My top Reposado. Fruit Forward, nice barrel character, can still taste the mineral complexity. Best overall balance and representation of Reposado. ”

“My #3 Blanco after Cascahuin Tahona Blanco and Fortaleza. I compare this more to wine than spirits. This is like a Napa Cab. Fruit forward with good complexity from the mineral character. More expensive than my top 2. ”

“Agave Forward, nice mineral complexity. An upscale version of G4 but hard to justify 50 percent pricier. At a bar, I would just go with G4. At a store, buy this over G4 for sipping. ”

“A sweet smoky caramel tequila due to natural aguamiel added. Great for dessert sipping or mixed with Fever Tree Grapefruit. Good value. Always keep a bottle for something different but don’t compare to a traditional reposado. ”

“Use for cocktails. Don’t understand any Cristalino like Partida or Komos. Like filtering a great wine and obscuring the flavors. You can taste the barrel remnants without much flavor from underlying tequila. ”

“Grassy high proof tequila. Grass flavor and alcohol overpower agave. Great branding for this boutique additive free distillery. This bottle will go into margaritas. Wild Common a better high proof choice for my taste. ”
