2024 Las Raíces | Barrel proof Las Raices Reposado @50.5% is not a single barrel rather a blended batch with little dilution to the dump of casks used. Bottle 2010A is super spicy from the elevated ABV and has a great long lasting finish. Be sure to warm up the mouth before seriously sipping this as it might otherwise leave scorch marks on your tongue. After the palate settles down this presents some great roast agave taste and the familiar Ocho agave creme brulee profile, caralmelized vegetal notes with natural sweetness with added barrel spice and that long lasting finish. Good Stuff

2021 El Tigre | Ocho el Tigre Reposado 2021 my 800th TMM review. thought it appropriate because of the "8" has that el tesoro "bubblegum" nose that I love, which carries through in the palate.

2024 Las Raíces | Aroma: 21 Nice depth and evolution. Herbal notes of grass, asparagus, and mint punch through the forefront. Sweet cooked agave soon follows with mild vanilla. Finally a slight blast of lemon citrus brings up the rear. Overall, it’s very pleasant. Palate: 25 Medium viscous mouth feel. Slightly heavy feel. Palate is more spicy than the aroma suggested. Lots of pepper with gentle citrus. The oak and vanilla really start to pop the longer it opens up. This steers closer to a blanco than an anejo. Not as much barrel influence as I would have hoped for. That is not say it’s not good, because it is definitely a quality pour. Finish: 21 While the bulk of the flavor dissipates within 30 seconds, the oak and vanilla lingers in the back of my tongue for several minutes. Value: 7 $45 in New Hampshire. Great value for a quality additive free repo from a proven brand.

2024 Mirandillas | I really like the Plata version. The barrel aging has tamed it a little too much. Good flavors in aromas but not a lot of action.

2022 La Estancia | Nose: sweet agave / pepper/ caramel/ earth / oak / banana/ grapefruit/ lemongrass/ hay/ almond / Taste: agave cooked sweet / pepper/ vanilla & caramel/ earth / herbal / salt-brine / lime / peppermint / tea / tobacco/ hint of chocolate Finish: very low viscosity leaving a clean velvety mouthfeel that dissipates quickly only to leave a slight bitterness This reposado has a lot going for it until the bitter end, literally. I seem to notice this on single field expressions that have a terroir emphasis. There’s a lot of earthiness to this repo that is ok on my palate, but when left with a bitter finish it makes this a less enjoyable experience for me.

2023 San Jerónimo | While I raved about this expression in Blanco form the reposado was merely very good. All the good aromas and flavors for an ocho repo but nothing stands out.

2023 Potrero Grande | Nose: Minerals, apricots and a spritz of lemon. Buttery sweet agave notes. Pecan pralines. A deep rich aroma profile. Flavor: Anise, pepper punch, salinity. Medium body. Floral undertones accompany orchard fruitiness. Licorice tongue teases throughout. Just a suggestion of barreling. Nice blend of heat and sweet on the finish.

2023 San Jerónimo | Another gem from Ocho. The nose is full of agave. It is okay with vanilla and citrus. A bit of pepper and caramel come out for me too The taste is first and foremost delicious. Sweet agave, pepper, barrel influences of oak, vanilla and caramel. Just a touch of earthiness and brine. Nice sweet finish

2023 Potrero Grande | this reposado is very light, almost clear to the eye Nose- Nice cooked agave upfront that flows into an earthiness like dirt or clay, and a little vegetal Taste- nice cinnamon that flows from beginning to end, minerality, oak bitterness, and some brine Finish- medium to long finish with brine and minerality staying on the tongue

2023 Potrero Grande | Agave on nose, minimal barrel notes which is expected for Ocho. Palate is pretty quiet but get a slight sweetness on the backend of the palate that lingers with some pepper. The finish tingles the tongue a little bit which is always nice

2023 Potrero Grande | This is a nice repo. I also really like the Gran Potrero blanco. The agave does shine and you get the barrel influences of vanilla and oak. I get a black pepper smell along with some cinnamon. The taste is very good for this price range. It is full of agave with black pepper and vanilla and oak. I get more sweetness from caramel and a touch of citrus. I am also getting butter, which I generally enjoy. This is a good tequila value.

2023 San Jerónimo | With the aroma I get minerality and smoke accompanied with agave, oak, wet cement, earthiness, subtle spiciness, brine, and a light ethyl presence. Upon sipping, a delicately fresh mouthfeel emerges quickly, with prominent agave, minerality, citrus, subtle smoke, oak, light caramel, faint cacao, and a hint of pepperiness in the throat, all in a well-balanced composition imo. My tasting experience is noted by its ease of sipping, offering pleasing freshness, allowing the agave to take center stage while subtly influenced by the barrel. For me the finish reveal distinctive minerality, agave, and citrus intermingle with brine, accompanied by a subtle essence of smoke.

Tequila Ocho 2016 Puerta Del Aire Reposado- Light & Tasty

This 2016 single estate Reposado is very light all around, but has a complicated and exciting nose. Take the time to find all the aromas. There isn't a strong flavor profile, and it has very little wood presence, which is the point of showcasing the terro
