Tasted on a cruise where good tequila is not to be found. Thought I’d try a few that I normally would never try. Very light nose for an Añejo. On the palate, a bit of additive sweetness, alcohol, and caramel this is a poor example of an Añejo. What happened to the old Cazadores.

Alcohol and metallic flavors override the little barrel notes that exist. Classic bottom shelf bottle.

At SR Tequila $12/neat. Nose; vanilla, cinnamon, agave raw, nuts, smoke and pepper. Palate; vanilla, cinnamon, wood, pepper and alcohol. Finish short and bitter.

The American oak really helps bring this around, smells and tastes like a young bourbon. I’m digging the spice with sweet and this has a decent finish

Heavy oak and alcohol on the nose. Flavor: Hot. Overly new oak, pepper, bitter notes and an odd cloying sweetness. Almost a nauseating finish.

Distinct aroma of raw agave.

soft nose of pepper, agave and oak. there is a little bit of a burn, but not off putting. white pepper, oak and butter on the tongue with a quick, and quietly strong finish.

Smoother than I thought. Small aftertaste...

Muchas veces me gusta el Añejo, pero este es horrible

First taste is a bit disappointing. Strong alcohol with some weak notes of agave, caramel and vanilla. But overpowered by alcohol. The nose is deceptive. It has a sweetness to it with strong fragrances of caramel and cotton candy, and some alcohol. However the flavour does not reflect the scent. The finish sits in the back of the nose. Strong alcohol fumes and an artificial flavour lingers on the tongue.

This is an añejo I’d like to try in a Cadillac margarita The waiter wanted to shoot it so I didn’t get to make detailed notes. First impression was good, not excellent

Oaky aroma with lots of alcohol. Some sweet vanilla flavor with pepper and lots of alcohol. Short finish.

Heavy vanilla caramel aroma. Mostly the same tasting wise. Finish bites at first, but smoothes out.

Not bad for the price but not great. Has a fake caramel candy flavor that is not over powering but distracts. Strange añejo, I can’t recommend it but would probably buy it again at some point when I am feeling cheap.

The best of Cazadores. Tastes like a bourbon.

Interesting flavor profile. Has a mild agave burn but smooth going down. Warms up your soul. Hints of vanilla. Not the smoothest, a decent bargain Anejo

Bourbon oak barrel

Mexican 38% abv. version, lote: L16137MC38L16B1, bottled on 15-05-2016, tasted on 2-8-24. Color: yellow. Aroma: cooked agave with a hint of sweetness, slightly herbaceous, light green vegetal note, hint of vanilla that doesn’t bother, hint of black pepper. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, light orange, hint of earthiness. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of sweet cooked agave, light herbaceous note, light orange with a hint of black pepper note persists.

Smells sweet of honey, subtle floral notes. A little spicy going down

Nut meg

Smells much better than it tastes, nose is vanilla and agave forward. Heavy black pepper and oak on the palate, with a long overly sweet finish. Significantly improved by a few cubes of ice. Would probably be a solid mixer if it were cheaper. Not a good sipper.

great price in my area, decent agave flavor but noticable additives, very strong vanilla , some natural flavor in there at points, medium finish. probably an entry/mixer
