Cazadores Tequila Añejo
“First taste is a bit disappointing. Strong alcohol with some weak notes of agave, caramel and vanilla. But overpowered by alcohol. The nose is deceptive. It has a sweetness to it with strong fragrances of caramel and cotton candy, and some alcohol. However the flavour does not reflect the scent. The finish sits in the back of the nose. Strong alcohol fumes and an artificial flavour lingers on the tongue. ”

Cazadores Tequila Añejo Cristalino
“The taste is unexpected. I went in expecting a anejo spice flavour profile. But what I got was something all together different. While the taste is a bit off putting at first, once I put away my expectations, I found a unique flavour profile that was not unpleasant. A bit stringent at first , I could sort of taste the charcoal used to filter , I suddenly had a flavour of liquorice. The overall sipping is smooth with a little alcohol burn, but the full mouth feel is reminiscent of a very mild sambuca. Even the smell, which at first I didn’t like, has a liquorice scent. When you open your mind to just experience the drink, it’s not bad. Still , I think calling it anejo tequila is misleading. ”

Casamigos Tequila Blanco
“I gave this a mediocre score mostly because I think it would appeal to a new tequila drinker. As others have said, it has a light smell, and a very sweet taste, with heavy vanilla. It doesn’t have a lot of burn. Not really what I like in tequila, but a good one to serve guests, who are uninitiated. I can see why it’s a celebrity tequila. Too fake for me. ”

Herradura Silver
“Aroma has a strong alcohol smell. Not unpleasant, but not enticing. Taste is a little bland, raw but it doesn’t have a heavy burn. Finish is soft with only a little after burn. Would make a nice mixer, or when you want to do shots. Not a great sipping but ok for a quick night cap. ”

“A go to mixer. Fairly light on depth of flavour , but has enough to make a decent mixer. Value is the key here. ”

“This is an average reposado. Nothing spectacular going on here. Not too strong , and would be a good mixer, not a lot of flavour as a sipper, but has a pleasant alcohol burn. ”

“A very sweet tequila. It has a very strong vanilla note to the smell and the flavour has this too. I get the taste of cotton candy. I think this would make for some interesting cocktails, but is a little off drinking it straight. It tastes artificial. There is a small burn in the aftertaste, but not a lot. It might also be a good shooter for those who don’t like the taste of blanco tequila. Overall I think this is a good choice for occasional tequila drinkers , but traditionalists will find it a bit too sweet. ”

Rooster Rojo Reposado
“First taste of this reposado. Nice aroma, with notes of spice, not a lot of alcohol smell. Taste is kind of sweet. Pleasant for sipping, but I don’t think I would use it for a margarita. Some might find this too sweet for their palate. It does taste like something was added to enhance the natural flavour. Still nice to drink. ”

Arette Reposado
“Disappointed. After trying the Blanco and enjoying that so much , I found the reposado harsh , with a rough finish. Very strong alcohol flavour which got in my nose. There are some strong green wood notes which are interested, but the alcohol burn drowns it out. ”
