Tasted in the tequila matchmaker mystery blind On the nose I get some Pecor wet cement a lot earthiness and some wood shavings On the taste it’s a nice agave with a buttery feel a buttery taste a little bitterness in the finish Finish has a little barrel spice a nice tangle in the back of the tongue it lingers for a little bit. I feel like this one is a 1579 tequila

Nose: Right away, the cooked agave jumps out, rich and full. It’s very floral too, almost like walking through a spring garden. There’s a warm touch of cinnamon, and from the Bordeaux barrel influence, a soft hint of grape. As it opens up, you start to pick up notes of stone fruit and a little dry hay. Palate and Mouthfeel: The body is medium and really smooth, almost buttery. It’s agave forward just like you’d expect from a Blanco out of Cascahuin, but what really sets it apart is this distinct flavor of rose water candy, like a really good Turkish delight. There’s a natural sweetness that feels effortless, not syrupy at all. As you sip, a slow black pepper warmth starts to build, but it never overpowers the agave or the floral notes. Honestly, if I wasn’t told this was a blanco, I would’ve sworn it was a reposado just by the richness, not to mention by the color. Finish: The peppery warmth lingers nicely, and even as the sweetness fades, that delicate rose flavor hangs on, giving the finish a really unique and memorable twist. Overall: I absolutely love this blanco. There’s nothing else quite like it out there. It’s bright, floral, full of character, and it somehow captures the feeling of Spring in a glass.

Amazing nose/pallet, agave forward like youd expect from 1123, bright, floral, citrus, some buttercream, the bordeaux barrels give a nice fruitiness to both, medium body/finish, but homer on value for under $60 + big pts, great sipper anytime

Pale straw in color this has a very pungent nose. Some initial agave sweetness, this has a very light barrel touch that never covers that initial agave sweetness. Oak influence yes, but the base Blanco shines through and ends on a pleasing note. Very tasty

This is a unique tequila with its pinkish color, creamy texture and a well-balanced combination of cooked agave, minerals, spice and stone fruits. This one’s a winner.

Based on the nose alone, this one is definitely very unique. I get grapes, cranberries, hay, agave, and stone fruit. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied. the palate is of rose and minerality The finish I get grapes, rose, black pepper, and minerality on the very back end of that finish. I'm glad I tried this, but I don't think it's particularly what I look gor in a tequila as it drinks like a rosa.

Unique nose, most likely from the wine barrel. Pepper and slight bitterness on the palate. You can taste the wine influence on the finish. Not a favorite for me

I rated this in a blind and loved it. My original review is nothing like this. Not sure if the lots. The nose is sweet agave, flowers, fruits and grapes. Other than that I get vanilla and nutmeg. The taste is sweet agave, vanilla, caramel and pepper. Probably my least favorite part is the finish although not bad but does match the rest of the profile. I find it just a touch bitter and a bit too much alcohol. I do recommend this tequila and my nits are only minor. I would absolutely drink this again. While it may not have hit me the same way it did in the blind I have ordered a bottle for my collection.

Nose: floral / fruity/ pear/apple /mint / lavender/ chocolate/ Taste: cooked agave / vanilla / cinnamon/ banana/ plum-grapes/ nutmeg/ maple / chocolate Finish: extremely well balanced / sweet fruit and floral bouquet finish with a slightly wet yet creamy finish that stays on the sweet for a while. This blanco is barrel aged in Bordeaux barrels. That tiny rest in a barrel gives this blanco a strong reposado feel and taste. Amazing how wine barrels can impart so many flavors like chocolate on a tequila in less than 30 days. I got a slight hint of plum and grape on the nose but not on the taste. The agave sweetness carries through the whole experience.

The French oak wine barrels make a statement in this blanco. A fruity, cinnamon flavor with a long satisfying finish. Another interesting and unique blanco from NOM 1123.

Delicious!! Wine barrel influence is on the first taste. Silky, creamy, honey, cooked agave, minty, peppery finish. One of my favorites.

Montagave tasting 10/11/22, again 10/15, 10/22 the more I drink these, the more I like them both. they are sooo easy to sip, especially lote 2... Lote 1 Darker pink color Nose: agave, fruit, and red wine Palate: sweet agave with some fruit, a little heat Finish: dry, with a little fruit and some warmth that lingers. just how I like it. Viscosity: thick but not too thick. Very good Lote 2 Lighter color Nose: agave forward with some anise Taste: sweet agave, fruit, a little pepper, seems a little hotter than lote 1, in a good way Overall comparison between lotes 1 and 2: They are both quite good. I get more wine notes with 1. I like 2 better = sweeter more agave with anise, less wine notes. With 2, the finish is a little hotter, more peppery, in a good way. Legs on both are good lote 3 is a womderful blend of the 2 above lotes

A nice over all balance of flavor. Lots of cooked agave. It’s very oily which I love. The finish is what does it for me. Nice hints of the Boudreaux barrel really shine through. I do wish it was a bit cheaper. Not sure the price falls in line with other premium blanco pricing.

Light wood and wine barrel notes. The agave shines here. Cooked agave, light red fruit flavors. Very balanced.

Floral, agave, sweet red wine, and hay on the nose, this smells great! I taste nice notes of agave and black pepper. Flavor is a notch below the amazing smell, as its got a slight bitter twang like over tart fruit. Nice legs but the finish is fairly short. (87 rating) Blind tasting, Jan 2025: (91) Light, fresh, and elegant—I’m picking up celery, berries, and sweet agave, with a nice lip tingle.

Very nice blonco. On the nose it has the typical cascahuin nose f agave, baking spices, minerality, right into a fruit like ripe grapes. The taste is wow very complex. Has a nice grape sickle taste (think of an orange crème sickle popsicle but with grape instead of oranges… but not artificial all natural tasting). Very good.

Lightly floral with a clean minerality melded with cooked agave aromas on the nose. Light sweetness on the palate, mild and pleasant. A dry finish with a delicious burst of agave and light pepper, mixed with lingering floral notes. Update: On a blind test, detected more bitterness on the finish.
