“Wow! My 2nd tasting during 1st ever Cazcanes virtual tasting event w/ Jose Santillan. Also comparing to two of my favorite blancos: Forteleza & Cascuhuin Tahona. Fantastic aromas, but the flavor & finish are even better. Before the virtual tasting event, I sipped a second time and identified in the app fantastic aromas & flavors of cooked agave, vegetal, earthy, mineral, citrus, herbal & slight pepper, cinnamon, olive, butter & smoke. Long finish that has a slight numbing effect. Fully recommend you splurge for a bottle this is truly fantastic juice.”

“This añejo has complex aromas of oak, caramel, cinnamon, dried fruit, maple, nutmeg, baking spice and slight cooked agave. Flavors are similar, but a bit of buttery goodness and slight black pepper in the finish. ”

“A fantastic blanco. Very slight amber color (not super clear). Thick in the glass & mouth. Complicated aromas of cooked agave, citrus, lactic funk, earthy, floral, fruity & slight mint. Flavors of cooked agave, lactic, citrus, mintiness transitions to slight cinnamon & black pepper long finish. Online tasting w/ Tequila Report’s Jay Baer & John des Rosiers. Really?!? Six different yeast strains that combat wild yeast in wood vats? Super complicated.”

“After sipping the No. 9 blanco I moved onto this fantastic añejo (as Cozumel restaurant did not have the repo). This No. 7 Añejo seems very light in color, but coats the glass nicely and has wonderful aromas of caramel, butter, vanilla, earthiness and cooked agave. Soft, but complex flavors of caramel, butter, vanilla, barrel spice, cooked agave, cinnamon and very slight pepper in this one. ”

“A fantastic blanco! I often struggle with high proof, but not this one. Coats the glass very nicely. Predominant aroma of cooked agave with slight citrus, vegetal, mineral & earthiness. Flavor is where this blanco really shines! Strong cooked agave, vegetal & citrus, slight mineral and earthiness shifting to pepper & cinnamon finish. I tasted on the patio at Cozumel restaurant & bar in Kennewick, WA.”

“Lucked onto this well made Añejo marked down <$30 in Wilsonville, OR so I bought two! Nothing wrong with aromas of agave, vanilla, oak, cinnamon & very slight citrus. Flavors starts with agave, caramel, baking spice, slight citrus & honey. Changes to pepper & cinnamon in the medium long finish. Enjoying this sipper listening to crashing waves on the Oregon Coast.”

“Very strong cooked agave aroma with minerals, earth, citrus, pepper & very slight mint. Oily mouth feel, nice tears on the glass. Crystal clear in the glass. Again, strong agave flavor w/ pepper, mineral, citrus & slight mint transitions to vegetal lingering finish. Thank you Diego for bringing this back from Jalisco, it is truly fantastic!”

“Another fantastic Fortaleza Blanco brought back from Mexico by a friend. This one (Lote 210-B w/ Mexican tax stamp) has aromas of cooked agave, citrus, earth, olive & slight minerals. Flavors of cooked agave, olive, butter & little minerals, citrus and very slight black pepper. Simply one of the best tequilas that I have had.”

“Tasted in AMM fermentation class, circling back to rate. Very good sipper. Aromas of agave & minerals with slight mint, citrus & flowers. Flavors seem much more pronounced with all of the above plus pepper & cinnamon with slight, short brine and vanilla finish. ”
