Bottle: AMM’s First Blind Tasting of 2026, Bottle #8 Appearance: Clear Nose: Light cooked agave, citrus, lemon, flowers, baby powder, and celery…I could not get this to open up, regardless of the amount of time given Palate: Light cooked agave, citrus, cinnamon, alcohol, and jalapeño…very light flavors with a touch of heat that gives it a modest bit of personality that would make it more than suitable for cocktails Finish: Black pepper, generic citrus, and alcohol…long and warm with a thick and oily mouthfeel, but considerably underwhelming My blind score: 75 Panelist average blind score: 85.375 Difference: -10.375 Overall: Pending…
Tasted blind for Agavos Nose has a earthy wood note that is like being in the woods in the fall. Aromas of agave, soil, green pepper, grapefruit, mint, milk, dried leaves, honey and lilac. Taste is a bit brighter and cleaner than the nose. Notes of cooked agave, lime, pepper, wet soil, minerals, fresh cut banana pepper, mint, citrus peel, ginger and honey. This has a nice viscosity that coats the mouth nicely. Has a nice warm finish with fading notes of cayenne, spearmint and agave.
The most reliable agave awards, with blind judging, praised these tequilas.
