Espolon Blanco

“I'm not sure if I got a bad bottle or something because the Espolon Blanco I have is really TERRIBLE. Strange cause the Reposado is ok for me. Aroma is just overwhelming alcohol/acetone, so much so that it is very hard to pick up any other notes from it. Flavour is just bearable, but then the aftertaste just makes you say "yuck". Reminds me of terrible cheap mixtos and the type of product that gives Tequila such a bad name with most people. I don't recommend this one at all. Go for the Reposado if Espolon is what you want, it's decent for cocktails and won't make you cringe if you sip it. Ordered online in Germany for 22€. NOM 1440.”

Dulce Vida Reposado

“Aroma comes across sweet, with a lot of vanilla. Agave and oak are both present but they take a back seat. There is alcohol as well, as you can tell it's a high proof. I even get an almost banana aroma, maybe more like a banana candy. Taste is quite fresh and not too bad. Alcohol forward, sweet, and a little oak. Maybe a bit too much alcohol at this proof. Finish is nice, the alcohol dissipates quickly and leave a fresh feeling in the mouth. Finally the agave and oak flavours show through and leave you with a pleasant taste. Tried at my brother's place, and he thinks he got it for around $35 CAD on sale...which is a great value! NOM 1443”

Hornitos Reposado Tequila

“Better than a mixto and I have had worse Diffuser Tequilas, but it's still a Diffuser Tequila. Aroma is actually not so bad, you can smell the alcohol but there is a lot of agave as well. Lime and pepper too. Taste takes a turn for the worse though and you start to pick up some strange flavours. My girlfriend described it as "soap" and I agree it's got a strange bitterness to it. The finish follows the same path as the taste and isn't so pleasant. Bought online in Germany for 21€. Worth spending a few extra Euro to get this over a mixto, but also worth spending a few extra Euro to get a better Tequila over this! Can work in Cocktails. NOM 1102”

Herencia Mexicana Reposado

“This is a pretty dark repo, with a fair bit of wood aroma/flavour. The aroma also smells a bit sweet with caramel, vanilla, cherry, and of course agave. Taste is very soft and smooth with wood and caramel/vanilla as the predominant flavours. Finish also very woody, and a bit bitter. Aroma and flavour definitely better than the finish. For me it's a bit too much wood for a Repo and I'd be scared to try the Añejo! It is enjoyable though and if you do like wood forward Reposados/Añejos then give this a taste cause it is pleasant. Tasted in a bar in the Netherlands for 6.50 EUR a shot.”

“Yes, it's as good as they say! Loads of flavour and really makes you think that Tequila should always be served still strength! Aroma, taste, and finish are all what you would expect from a high quality blanco, but just a bit better in every aspect! Aroma is agave, grass, pepper, and a tad bit of honey. Flavour is really the strength, all the lovely aroma translating directly to your tongue. It has a lovely oily mouth feel and leaves you with a warm feeling. Finish wraps it all up wonderfully too. Lovely stuff tasted at a bar in Belgium at 6.50 EUR for 20ml. Now I need to find a bottle! NOM 1493”

“Aroma is agave, grass, pepper, maybe even a little apple sweetness. Taste has all the agave, grass, and pepper as well but a little bitterness that almost tastes like walnut. Also some honey sweetness. Finish ends on an agave, honey, walnut note! It's very pleasant but maybe doesn't jump out as something especially unique. Not sure what a bottle costs but I'd say it tastes like something mid-range.”

“Finally found a bottle to try in Belgium of all places! Lovely Aroma of everything you would expect: agave, oak, vanilla, and lime! There are herbs in there but I can't pick it out. Taste is lovely as well, with honey and lime really standing strong. Smooth and a bit sweet. The oak flavour is faintly there and comes through more with the finish. A fresh delicious Reposado! Tasted in a bar in Belgium, 9 EUR for 20ml! ”

“Hmm, some people like this but I have to say I really don't. I struggle to find any agave aroma or flavour inside. The aroma comes across very alcohol/acetone with some oak and cherry sweetness. The flavour gets a bit better as the alcohol fades a little to a honey and pepper taste. Still not much agave present and tastes almost chemical. Oak is present as well and lingers with the honey as it finishes. Finish doesn't last long and just not desirable for me. Unfortunately, I just can't recommend this. Bought online in Germany for 30 EUR. NOM 1368”

“Top Top Blanco! Just everything you want from a Blanco, fresh, pepper and agave! Aroma is agave, citrus, grass, pepper, and even honey. Taste follows almost the exact aroma profile. Pepper maybe comes through a bit more but citrus, grass, and honey all still there. The finish also the same in the mouth, the sweetness coming through a bit more and overall just enjoyable! Bought this in Guadalajara for about 350 Pesos and will definitely buy again! NOM 1120 ”

“Normally I would steer clear of flavoured tequilas, but this one gets a purchase since it is flavoured with Cooked Agave (Still 100% Agave!). It has the freshness of a Blanco, with a little extra agave and flavour. The Aroma is earthy agave, grass, and a touch of sweetness that comes across as pear. The flavour is similar to the aroma with definite agave and pear that comes through both bitter and sweet. It's more like a green pear that isn't completely ripe. The finish falls a bit flat though and doesn't hang around for very long at all. In the end it just leaves a little bitterness in the mouth that tastes like you have eaten a walnut. Bought this online in Germany for 23€ (0.5L). NOM 1474”

“This Tequila smells just wonderful! A really nice mix of cooked agave, oak, caramel, cinnamon, and a subtle hint of cherry. The taste is nice too with a very pleasant oak flavour. The finish brings out a lot of cooked agave on top of the oak and sits well in the mouth. This is exactly what I think of when I think "Reposado" and the characteristics I would expect from barrel ageing. It's decently dark so I imagine it has been aged towards the longer limit of a Reposado. One of the first proper Tequilas I was introduced to and I give it credit for getting me into Tequila! It has a distinct aroma/flavour that I could pick out every time, and I love it! Bought in Arandas, Jalisco for about 400 Peso. NOM 1140”

“Aroma is very citric and a little sweet, overall not too bad. Taste is quite bitter and a lot of alcohol. Finish is a little better than the taste but still alcohol. This one is not a sipper! However it is actually an ok budget option for party margaritas. Currently online in Germany it's almost the same price mixto Tequilas, so it's obviously a better option than those to make cocktails with! Bought online in Germany for 18€. NOM 1119”

“Happy to find this Tequila available online in Germany! There are some Blancos I like more but this is great for what is available abroad for the price. The aroma comes across sweet with cooked agave, honey, and even a hint of mint. The taste is agave and honey but no mint anymore. The finish the same with a tiny bitterness. Pleasant and is ok to be sipped. For me this is a good recommendation abroad where I am, based on availability, price, and quality. In Mexico though, there are other options to go to first (and you probably won't even find this being sold there so much). Bought online in Germany for 30€. NOM 1111”

“This Reposado doesn't come across as anything extra special in all departments: aroma, taste, or finish. Not saying it is bad, but doesn't really stand out as so good either. Aroma comes through with cooked agave, oak, and floral notes. Taste follows the aroma notes but starts to get a little bitter. The finish unfortunately increases in bitterness and leaves the bitterness in your mouth. The finish even tastes a bit nutty. Not terrible, but not one of my favourites. I would recommend this to a friend based on the fact you can buy it abroad (I live in Germany), and it is better than a lot of the other options at this price range abroad. However, I would not recommend the buy if you were in Mexico as there are just too many better Tequilas to buy there! I don't think it is even really sold in Mexico so much. I bought this online in Germany for 30€. NOM 1111 ”

Gran Centenario Reposado

“This to me is a solid Reposado. I wouldn't say it's ground breaking but I like it a lot and it has a firm spot in my collection. It's a good standard with some of my favourites above and many lesser liked tequilas below. The aroma is quite nice with a strong cooked agave scent, caramel, oak, and even a hint of orange. The flavour is maybe where it loses a few marks as the alcohol comes through and has a tiny bite. The finish afterwards brings back the pleasantness. Overall quite nice and I do enjoy it. Bought in the Duty Free on a layover in Cancun Airport for maybe 600 Pesos (if I remember correctly). NOM 1122”

“This one definitely should sit a awhile before drinking. The aroma is a wonderful oak, cinnamon, and vanilla with a hint of banana. The taste comes across with a strong pine flavour and an almost overwhelming barrel taste. The finish continues with a oak/pine wood flavour that lingers in the mouth for a long time afterwards. If you like a primarily wood barrel taste then you will enjoy this, if not then maybe choose another. Bought online in Germany for 30€. NOM 1122”
