The aroma opens with blasting caramel, accompanied by saturated oak/wood notes and a heavy whiskey tone. There's an ethyl presence that is scathing, with an intriguing hint of pinecone. On the palate, the experience is marked by a gripping alcohol presence, pepperiness, distinct yeast funk and an overly saturated off-putting whiskey tone masking any presence of agave for me. The oak and whiskey notes cling as they fade, leaving a lingering warmth intertwined with the initial adulterated sweetness.

2011 Mexican 38% release. Nose: Fruity, floral and oak start. Followed up with agave, vanilla, cherry, cinnamon and a hint of lactic. Flavors: Heavier oak comes through on the palate than presents on the nose. Vanilla, barrel spices medium pepper and some bitterness. Finishes with Butterscotch and pepper. 2011 price was $450 pesos.

Old bottle, 15 years or more. Very strong floral notes from the French Oak aging. In the mouth it is quite spicy and not unlike the original Milenio issue with the FO dominating at first but as it fades to a slightly bitter finish, roast agave comes through. From a time when Cuervo et al could make good tequilas. 05012018

Rated blind. Twice! Same score. Cuervo can make great tequila when they want to.

It is not offensive by any stretch. Just not what im looking for in a good tequila. Over manipulated and sweet. Lots of oak and vanilla. Not too much agave. Strays far from my usual choice.

Was expecting to hate this, but was surprised how decent it was for being a Cuervo product and considering how bad the blanco and repo from the 1800 line are. Great for mixing not so much for sipping. Tastes more like Bourbon than Tequila

Pretty nice Anejo. Aromas are on the wood side and burnt agave. Taste is faithful to aromas with more agave than i thought would be left from the aging. Medium finish

Nose: An Instant sweet fudge smell, Coke with Lime. Agave at the back seat. Oak. Taste: First impressions is Hot on and an Ethanol taste. Second impression is sweet, then a bit harsh and fudge. Oak. Finish: Sweet,Coke with Lime, mint and Agave. Oak and coffee. Ok, get this despite all the bad reviews. Drinking this Tequila neat isn’t the best, but mixing with it to an Old Fashioned, Ranch Water,Batanga, Old Fashioned with cream and cinnamon/nutmeg works totally fine. It works in a Tequila sour too! So to the conclusion is; it can absolutely be used as a drink base. Is there better Tequilas, yes. But it works good enough for me. Over and out!

It kind of have a little bit of a bourbon flavor but you could taste the tequila as well. I personally also like bourbon so if you don't you might not like it.

Smells better than it tastes. Super dark which makes me wonder if additives are being used to enhance colour and flavor. Leave a long sweet, and slight peppery finish. Tastes a touch artificial. I love the value on 1800 but think the reposado is probably a better choice. Buy other Anjeos (like Espolon) for cheap/entry level Anjeos. It might be what you pay for with Anjeos ….

Nose has hints of caramel and butterscotch. Color is a dark amber. Flavor is not nearly as appealing as the aroma might imply. Has a harsh bite and a quick finish.
