“Well, here it is, the top of the mountain, the pinnacle, the apex, the one you want every other one to be like but are always a little disappointed because they can't quite measure up. Fortaleza Blanco is absolutely gorgeous. Brine and agave up front and throughout from start to finish. Sublime viscosity and mouthful. This is nothing short of outstanding and is now the one to beat for me. ”

“I find that the extra alcohol detracts from the amazing flavor that regular tapatio blanco has. Everything is amped up to 11 in this but the extra proof cloaks the brilliance of this stuff with booziness. ”

Pasote Blanco

“I know this stuff is coveted but all I get is dirty earthy clay from it. My favourite blancos are Ocho, El Tesoro and Tapatio and this tastes like soil and rain water (which is the point I know) but it doesn't agree with my taste preferences which is unfortunate as it is considered one of the best! ”

“the first truly amazing blanco that I tried. Brine, like, seriously.... olives almost.... AND I LOVE IT. haven't been able to find it in Calgary since covid hit, been deprived for almost a year and a half now due to shipping issues apparently. When I find the new varieties, I am buying every one in the store. All time fav! ”

Olmeca Altos Plata

“This stuff is a bit of a surprise to those that I have turned on to tequila and to those that are set on or star struck by the "big brands" for their name and marketing prowess. I have put Altos in a Margarita or Paloma side by side with Patron or Don Julio for example and the result is unanimously Altos when tasted blindly. This is my favourite "bargain" tequila. I say bargain in quotations because it is almost $50 here in Alberta but still $20-30 less than the aforementioned big guns and infinitely better in flavor. When I can't make it into Calgary to get El Tesoro, Ocho (when they have it, been deprived since Covid hit) Tapatio 110 etc, this is one of the few that's readily accessible in most stores and an absolutely wonderful option as a cheaper alternative and a great mixer! ”

Tierra Noble Tequila Blanco

“I'm a big fan of Ocho plata, El Tesoro blanco and Tapatio blanco (my go to tequila). This has (at least to me) a very "off" odour and flavor. Perhaps it's the minerality but there is just something funky and almost plastic on the nose and flavour profile that turns me off especially when compared to my 3 favourites. I am in no way an expert but this just doesn't sit right with me. ”
