“Decent nose, nothing special. A little on the hot side for a 40% blanco. Pepper/heat lingers on the finish. Got it on sale for $39.99 at Costco for the 1L. At that price I will definitely keep it around for cocktails and the occasional sipper.”

“Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla, Mexican caramel, some fruit, and a little pepper. Palate: Cooked agave, vanilla, mexican style caramel. Some pepper in there as well. It's a little thin, but it does have a nice but somewhat short finish. The finish starts with the pepper/baking spices and ends with a vanilla/caramel sweetness. I will definitely keep a bottle of this around.”

Carrera Tequila Blanco Still Strength

“ Nose: Sweet cooked agave, cinnamon, baking spices, and some citrus comes through as well. The best way I could describe it would be extremely bright. I don't think I've had something so easy to nose. It's extremely fragrant, the aromas just permiate from the glass. Palate: The amount of natural sweetness is just unreal. It's like a bite of cooked agave with caramelized brown sugar on top. It has enough bite to let you know it's high proof, but it's very easy to drink. It has some nice pepper in there as well, that helps balance out the intense, but very pleasant sweetness. This review is from my first pour. I'm looking forward to how it opens up over time and what else I can pull from it. ”

“Nose: Cooked agave, vegetal, citrus, orange zest like, with some pepper. A hint of vanilla comes through as well. There's also a very subtle pleasant funk to it. Palate: Sweet cooked agave punching through immediately. Earthy, minerals with a mild burn, but not off putting at all. Citrus and pepper towards the finish. That signature Cascahuin crisp, cleanliness that I absolutely love, is very present. ”

“Nose: Cooked agave, caramel/butterscotch, wood, fruitiness, and pepper. Palate: The finish stands out, as the pepper lingers for quite a while. Sometimes añejo's tend to stray from the blanco, but that signature El Tequileño peppery earthiness still shines, just like in the blanco. This is one of the few brands that I would have high confidence picking out in any blind tasting. There is just a signature taste there that stands out to me in all of their higher end expressions. It's sweet but well balanced with spice and a nice earthiness.The barrel influence enhances, but doesn't overpower the agave. When I crack one of these, it doesn't last very long.”

“Nose: It's a little light on the nose. Hints of cooked agave, light oak, chocolate. Palate: The first note I get is chocolate. I've had this repo on multiple occasions, and the chocolate always stands out. Sweet cooked agave still comes through in droves. The mouth feel isn't quite as silky as some others from 1414, but still pleasant. The finish is a short to medium, with the sweet agave and cinammon spice lingering on the tongue. ”

“Nose: Light oak, dried fruit, occasional light agave. Palate: Right off the bat, this hit me with an odd flavor I can't seem to describe. Not bad, just different. Getting some oak, pepper, with a nice subtle fruitiness. Spice really comes through on the finish. Slight burn going down, but I enjoy that. At around $45 this is a bargain. I probably won't reach for it all the time, but it's different enough to keep a bottle in my arsenal.”

“Nose: Cooked agave, oak, vanilla, caramel Palate: Muted cooked agave, oak, nice overall balance. I get a nice fresh pepper that morphs into a hint of caramel sweetness. I'm glad I picked this up, and I'll definitely keep a bottle on the shelf. Price was $120 which is very fair considering the current state of prices. This is a very underrated brand.”

“Nose: Sweet cooked agave, some decent smoke which is stronger when after sniffing the empty glass. Some spice, and a hint of fruit. Palate: Nice cooked agave, a little bit of burn with a nice minerality as well. Definitely some smoke coming through. Mouth feel is pleasant and it has a medium finish. Nice cherry flavor in the background, but it showed up sporadically, not every sip for me. You can find this for around $30-$50 and it's a steal at that price.”

“Nose: Cooked agave, oak, fruit, vanilla, caramel. I'm getting something I can't put my finger on, maybe ripe banana. Palate: Light oak, sweet cooked agave, fruit, but almost a stewed fruit. Hints of vanilla and caramel with some baking spices coming through on the back end with a medium finish. Absolutely love this coming out of Nom 1146, it's one of my favorite añejo's at the moment. ”
