“Crystal clear with lovely smoky, earthy, peppery roasted agave nose, and a hint of green olive. Nice mouth feel, yet dry having the same agave flavors as aroma. Pepper and brine and mature grassy notes throughout. The finish is long and satisfying carrying all the flavors. Not as silky as the Lalo, but the earthy dryness really distinguishes this blanco. I tasted it against the Lola blanco, and what a contrast! I love them both. ”

“This is the Añejo Batch A017 aged in bourbon barrels. The pale amber color is appealing. Cooked agave, mild black pepper, and slight lime citrus, brine, melon, earth, and oak aroma. Complex. Flavors of black pepper, cooked agave, oak tannins, lime citrus, minerals, and brine. A hint of vanilla and smokey char. Again, complex. Black pepper, brine, minerals, citrus, with a vegetal quality in the long pleasant finish. ”

“Pleasant, soft, cooked agave aroma with black pepper and lemon notes. Lovely, glycerin mouth feel. Steamed agave, lemon peal oils, and dried rye grass to the taste giving way to a little mild black pepper and spearmint/licorice in the finish. The flavors linger very nicely in a long finish. ”

“An aroma of cooked and raw agave, vanilla, fruit (artificial), and a touch of oak, a bit herbal, and a bit too artificially sweet smelling for me. Initial flavors of agave, vegetation, spice, and black pepper, turning to alcohol, pepper and smoke, with a short, smokey finish. Better than the reposado christalino. This is less artificially sweet and doesn’t have the medicinal bits. I would not buy more. Even at a lower price point. ”

“2019 Bottling. Aroma mild roasted agave, some caramel/butterscotch/ butter, oak, black pepper, dried fruit, citrus, black tea, baking spices; almost cream soda, with a hint of mesquite smoke. Lovely. The taste follows the aroma, but with a black pepper bite, some licorice, brine, alcohol, and some smoke. Very pleasant and complex. The finish is fairly short, with roasted agave, light smokiness and black pepper trailing off. Quite nice. ”

“Mild aroma of cooked agave, vanilla, black pepper, slight coconut, lime, celery, honey, sesame, and minerals. Bubblegum? Really? Flavors of cooked agave, black pepper, grass, olive, cinnamon, green apple, citrus, lemongrass, parsley, clove, cedar, salt, and minerals. With some unexpected glycerine and pepper on the finish. Vanilla come through with a bit of lime. The finish ends clean. I like it more the third time around, with more oxygen in the bottle. But there are so many taquillas to try, I wouldn’t buy this again. ”

“Perhaps it’s me, but this is not something I’d buy again, even at a lower price point. Cooked agave, artificial fruit, artificial sweetener, and just maybe some floral notes in the aroma. In addition to the cooked agave, the artificial sweetener shows again in the flavor, along with some black pepper, olive, grapefruit, anise, herbs, artificial fruit, as well as a slight medicinal taste. Not the type of complexity I’m seeking. ”
