Bottle: 30/01/2025, LG0012B54E Appearance: Clear Initial thoughts… Nose: Cooked and raw agave, vegetal, jalapeño and Serrano peppers, brine/salinity, minerality Palate: Black pepper, jalapeño, lemon peel Finish: Alcohol, cinnamon, anise Final review pending…
Smooth finish. Taste clean with strong pepper flavors
Nose: Agave is front and center, layered with mineral and earthy notes. Subtle vegetal hints mix with bright citrus and a touch of black pepper, giving the aroma depth and character. Palate & Mouthfeel: Full and coating, the texture is creamy and smooth. Sweet agave carries through, supported by the spice and vegetal notes from the nose. The black pepper is assertive but balanced, and a welcome note of salted butter adds richness that lingers on the palate. Finish: The finish is spicy with mineral undertones, recalling crisp well water, while the sweetness of agave persists. A gentle tingling remains on the tongue, leaving a clean, lasting impression. Final Thoughts: This tequila is excellent and is an impressive value for a well made tequila that is clean, honest, and satisfying from start to finish.
Probably a little too high proof for me. Smooth and clean flavor, but a lot of burn.
Nose is cooked agave, pepper and citrus. Taste is cooked agave, pepper, alcohol and citrus. The glass was a Chisholm High Proof Jarrito.
A bit overwhelming on the neck, but as I slowly made my way through the bottle and let this blanco aerate flavors & aromas began to open up. On the nose is a blast of saline and alcohol, but after letting rest cooked agave shines through. On the palate is a mouthful of freshly cracked black pepper, salinity, minerality, cooked agave and subtle herbal notes. The finish is where this high proof shines for me. The aforementioned notes dance on the tongue for a lengthy period and led to new arrivals such as cut grass and rainwater the longer it coated the palate. And just like that, after 30 minutes of resting a fresh orange comes into the fold! My first impression was not the best with this high proof from El Pandillo, but after sticking with it & giving it some time to cool down this blanco overcame and impressed!
Nose: agave / hint of cinnamon/ earth and mineral/ pepper / hint of fruit / orange peel / lime / grapefruit/ lemongrass / orange blossom/ salt Taste: sweet agave cooked / vanilla / licorice/ cinnamon/ banana/ apple / lime/ peppermint/ orange blossom/ baking spice/ cream soda Finish: lightly viscous mouthfeel with lingering delicious sweet agave, anise, and vanilla flavors that are very well balanced with the pepper/cinnamon notes. The sweetness is bold and does s great job of masking the 54% abv. The slight bittersweet final finish note is resolved with more lingering sweet and minty freshness This high proof blanco brings some bold flavors that hide the high 54% abv. There’s a good balance to the flavors through some delicious cinnamon/ pepper notes - signature G4/ NOM 1579 tastes. The nose is a little weak, but the taste and finish make up for it. Very good and easy to recommend.
Wow this is an amazing high proof blanco. Absolutely delicious with tons of agave. Felipe never disappoints. Nose: cooked agave, black pepper, citrus, minerals, cinnamon, mint, vegetal, grass, and some earth. Palate: cooked agave, black pepper, citrus, cinnamon almost like red hot candies, minerals, vegetal, mint, and some jalapeño. This one has a great long finish that lingers on the tongue. An absolutely great sipper.
Nose - cooked agave, minerals, vegetal with floral notes Pallet - cooked agave, white pepper, mineral, earth Finish - Agave, pepper, alcohol
I had a chance to taste this during a recent distillery visit. The first thing I noticed was the oily legs as I swirled in the glass, typical of G4. My first sniff, I was punched by the alcohol. After some more time in the glass, I got aromas of cooked agave, citrus, minerals, black pepper and a hint of cinnamon. Flavors of cooked agave, black pepper, minerals, citrus and the alcohol. Finish is nice and long. If you want high proof blanco, this is an excellent choice.
Nose: Kicks off with Full body agave and vegetal notes. Then evolves into a pepper, citrus and fruit. Very pleasant, good body and complex. Flavor: Medium body. Starts off with sweet gentle agave which leads into pepper, spice and cinnamon. Then melds into fruit, citrus, herbs. Finishes with hot spice in a very welcomed way. Very clean and full body high proof blanco. It’s almost like taking a freshly baked agave then heavily rinsing/cleaning it with water and then concentrated at the perfect level.
Agave forward nose. Black pepper, cinnamon and minerals with a vegetal smell. The taste is of cooked agave and black pepper. I get fruit, citrus and some floral notes. I like this and will continue drinking it
All the good as regular proof G4 and a bit more. Aroma is vegetal and green with that El Pandillo effervescent mintyness. Taste is the best part with some good earth and also a healthy dose of agave sweetness. Finish is good and peppery. Tasted again BB Dec 2025 and upped the score two. This is great!!
rated several yrs ago 89 pts. 10/2024 tasted blind in the TMM high-proof blinds rated 85 pts
Lot 4
Powerful. Like the regular blanco with punched up flavor. The agave, mineral, pepper and citrus flavors shine through and is very pleasant. Does not drink like a 54%.
Yowza! Is great when bottle is first cracked but once it opens up, woof! Like most other high proofs (but not all) tge little extra just opens up the aromas and flavors. It's truly next level compared to the regular blanco but still has its own character. Pepper, Jalapeño, herbs, agave, light fruits. It's a masterpiece!
amazing with, lots of pepper (almost chili pepper), butter, sweet cooked agave, honey, light anise, some fruit, citrus, floral, cinnamin, and more ... absolutely stunning high-proof Blanco. So clean and fresh with minerals.
Delicious, high proof. Put this in any cocktail or sip alone. Felipe always delivers value and flavor
A fantastic high proof from El Pandillo! Think traditional G4 DNA only enhanced. Lots of minerality, citrus, green grass and black pepper. Excellent, long finish but not overly hot for 108 proof.
G4 108 Nose: AGAVE BOMB. As soon as i started pouring it into my Riedel glass, I could smell it. Definitely some ethanol, but not as potent as you’d expect from a 54% unaged spirit. Minerals, a touch earthy, and a fleeting hint of cinnamon. Palate: Agave, front and center. First taste is just all cooked agave for me. Doesn’t burn like you’d think, though some ethanol is there. Very warming and delicious. Second tasting, getting pepper very clearly. Citrus comes through, more lemon than orange. A slight black olive note that quickly fades. Agave really is the star here. Verdict: Hot DAMN this is so amazing. Felipe knows his blancos, this blows standard G4 out of the water, and that’s saying something because that is an exquisite blanco. Felipe Camarena, you beautiful genius, this is a high proof blanco that will be on my shelf forever. The only reason I might give Tapatio 110 the edge is because they’re roughly on par price wise, but Tapatio is 1L. If I take value out of the equation though…G4 is one of the best blancos I’ve ever had, I’ll just say that.
I've had the 110 proof prototype which was phenomenal. This one comes very close and most who've tried both probably couldn't tell. This is proof that HP blancos dont translate into heat on the tongue. This is a case where the higher proof opens up the best the agave has to offer if cooked right. Plenty of warm agave going in followed by minerals, wet cement, beautifully oily, with some Bazooka Joe, mint, pear, apple, cinnamon. Nice tingly linger to stay in your memory... Grab one without hesitation as these are harder to come by now. For under 60 bucks, this a damn deal!
Clean and lovely legs and tears. The aroma is a brilliant pepper, cooked agave, and minerals which carry through to the taste with a somewhat oily mouthfeel that is nearly perfect in texture for me. Medium/long finish that ends with some black pepper and and nice heat. I tasted this one blind and was not at all surprised when it was revealed. Currently my #1 out of 1579 and, with the G4 repo being my going favorite regularly available in that expression, that's saying something for me!
Cristal Clear juice. Nose: cooked agave, thyme, smoke, mineral, tropical fruit, citrus, sage. Need to oxygenate before tasting to appreciate all the aromas. Flavor: sweet agave, pepper, olive, tropical fruit. Finish nice and long.

The smell leaves something to be desired, but I feel that way about most overproof tequilas I’ve rated. The taste was surprisingly good for someone like me that doesn’t consider themself a “high proof guy.” Pretty good value at $70-75 too considering the other overproof options that one can find.
