Nose: Butterscotch, Agave, Vanilla, Fruity and herbal. Mouthfeel: Very light mouthfeel Palate: Alcohol, Vanilla, Melon, Black Pepper Finish: Vanilla, Fruity, Black Pepper Caramel The nose is wonderful, its very powerful and chock full of agave. All the way to the finish, I get that agave in the face. Although I tend to enjoy more mineral and vegetal influenced spirits, this one was very solid. It drank more like a blanco than a reposado. My only critique is that it might have been a little sweet for my palate. Either way, I'm pleasantly surprised!

Nicely done Reposado, really enjoyed this one while on a distillery tour. Classic Reposado that highlights the agave. Not too fancy… just an enjoyable quality tequila that’s easy to keep sipping.

Pleasantly surprised for the money, could be used as a mixer or sipped neat.

Nose: Full agave, ripe fruit, butterscotch, barrel spices, with a hint of mint. Flavor: Caramel, fruit, black pepper with some kick. A chocolate or coffee undercurrent. The flavors are a natural progression from its 42% and 55% blanco siblings. Medium finish, where vanilla makes a last moment appearance. El Viejito is a solid brand making an economical line of tequilas. Not a beginner’s sipper - a bit rustic. A great mixer.

A little thin in the glass and mouthfeel. Aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, earth, slight oak and possibly apricot? Nice flavors of cooked agave, vanilla, pepper and possibly apricot. Mild medium finish w/ a little butter & vanilla. A pleasant repo at a very nice $35 price from Pkgd Group.

Rich sweet agave upfront, cracked black pepper, earthy undertones, and a creamy/viscous mouthfeel. The higher-proof 50% expression adds punchy cinnamon and baking spices without burning the palate.

Received as a sample from Agave Swappers so I am setting value at 5/10

$35 at hiproof.com you can’t go wrong. My bottle looked a bit different than what the photos here show. I suspect they might be rebranding? It’s nice and refreshing. Agave is there with some citrus and pepper. This is supposedly additive-free but there’s a pronounced - almost artificial - butterscotch lifesavers note that carries through to the end. I could see some people finding this a little too sweet, but for the price it’s worth finding out. Also would be a good bridge for someone ready to move on from artificially sweet additive tequilas like Casamigos.

Overall, is a very easy to drink reposado. I really get the black pepper and agave from tasting it upfront. It’s worth having at least one bottle on your shelf..

Agave Affair $78. Better repos at that price.

Aroma of cooked agave. On the palate was cooked agave, pepper and caramel. Felt more heat than I expected compared to the blanco.

Lote: TR280716TV, bottled on 17-08-2016. Color: light yellow. Aroma: light vanilla, herbaceous, alcohol sensation is medium high, light raw agave, slightly bitter, medium light body. Palate: vanilla, bitter, almost no agave perceived and there is an unnatural sweetness. Finish is medium to long, light vanilla, bitterness and the unnatural sweetness persist.

I enjoy this one. The nose is great, the flavor is old school, and the finish has a peppery bite that I enjoy. Nice value, classic, tequila with subtle aging that enhances without overpowering.
