“I would say what makes this memorable vs. el tesoro is the abv, it carries more barrel notes and the nose is enhanced by it. ”

    “Classic oversweetened cristalino.”

“Truly top tier blanco, to my taste it is better than the 7 decadas. It has more green flavors compared to regular siete leguas but the agave and minerality is amped. For beginners the proof may seem a bit harsh at the beginning compared to other tequilas but it is easy to get your palate used to it.”

“Truly a great reposado from the Cascahuin distillery. The profile reminds me of the Tahona Reposados they released as an aniversario. The balance of cooked agave and oak is in harmony. However, I think it is overpriced.”

“Nice bottle, their mezcal tends to be overpriced but this is priced well in mexico for an additive free tequila. The nose is very muted but I really liked the intensity of cooked agave. Also would make a nice gift, I recommend it.”

“I mean it’s Cascahuin, it’s going to be great. But I vastly preferred some of the other barrels in the last reposado aniversario, especially for the price. Good to try but unsure I would splurge for a whole bottle.”

“Amazing tequila, minerality and sweetness from the Tahona process without harsh notes. I never knew Volcan de mi Tierra could taste like this. Surprising given the fancy bottle. Value is not that great in Mexico vs. other Tahona made tequilas but it’s a great purchase nonetheless, especially as a gift to friends that value presentation. ”

“Somehow it did not remind me of ocho, it was slightly nutty and had a sweet taste unlike other batches. This is nice, I prefer it to the other 2023 bottlings. ”

“It reminds me so much of a Caballito Cerrero, not as complex but for the price the experience is pretty close. I’ll be purchasing more for sure. ”

“Very thin but nice, surprising for a celebrity tequila and a nice bottle. It does have a bitter finish which takes away some points.”

“This is a sweet tequila but not overpowered by additives like other brands. You can easily detect them in the finish but the taste is mostly a very standard extra añejo without complexity. Would never turn down a glass but I would spend my money on other brands for sure.”

“As colder days start to show up, this still strength shines. It has a fantastic nose but somehow the palate is a little bit all over the place. While an argument can be made that this offering is starting to lose points in value, there are few 46% players in the market and most are at a similar price point. ”

“Tastes old school, sweet and clean. Good value considering it’s ~500 MXN. Perfect for sipping or mixing, would recommend as a budget option easily available in Mexico.”

“300th review so figured I would do something special. The nose is like the best Cascahuin Tahona batch you’ve ever had. Ripe agave at its fullest with the characteristic cascahuin smell. However, the taste and finish fall a bit short and do not have the complexity this price point warrants. You’re better off buying other products from this distillery honestly.”

“As far as cristalinos go, I think this was very unoffensive. It has a clearly artificial taste and a very quick finish with no agave, something I’m sure many people would enjoy but not me. The price tag is pretty insane even compared to other “high end cristalinos” (~3,500 MXN). ”

“Batch 12. Amazing reposado, the wood is intense with high tannins in the first sips but over time the natural sweetness from the barrel takes over. If you like the aged offerings from cascahuin you’ll definitely like this one. ”

“The nose is complex, sweet but not overly so as there is some minerality hiding in the back. The taste is more straightforward though, classic aged ocho turned up a notch. Great Extra Añejo, a must to try to understand what can happen when the barrel is not the main flavor in aged tequila. ”
