Absolutely an awesome XA. Everything you love about Volans but enhanced barrel notes but not too much where it overpowers the agave. It’s a little sweeter than I expected, but I’m not mad about it!!
Nose: Cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, baking spice, butterscotch; hints of pepper and oak. Palate: Caramel, vanilla, black pepper, subtle cooked agave, oak, butterscotch, baking spice, and buttery texture. Finish: Smooth with lingering caramel, vanilla, and crisp agave! I love Volans’ single barrel program! They have some of the best SIBs with subtle aging that lets the agave shine! Total Wine (Willet Barrel) is a 94 for me, and the rare tequila SIB is a solid 91. Overall, great tequila out of 1579!
