Trevor’s Liquor Private Barrel (Arizona market) Aged in American Oak for 6 months 44% ABV This was a very enjoyable reposado. Solid character, great balance, and a nice showcase of agave with a touch of barrel influence. You can tell it was thoughtfully selected. On the nose, cooked agave leads the way, followed by smooth vanilla and light oak. There’s a touch of caramel sweetness, a pop of citrus, and a grounded earthiness that gives it some rustic charm. Black pepper adds a little kick, and there’s a nice herbal note in the background that rounds things out. On the palate, the agave is rich and well-integrated with the barrel notes. Oak and vanilla come through clearly, balanced by caramel and black pepper. There’s a touch of earthiness that keeps it grounded, with hints of anise and herbal complexity adding a nice layer of depth. The minerality on the finish gives it a clean, dry end that lingers nicely. Overall, this single barrel hits that sweet spot between tradition and barrel influence. It’s layered without being heavy, and still feels very true to the Cascahuin profile. Definitely one of those bottles that keeps you coming back for another sip.

44% abv: The aroma opens with a blend of minerality, honey, lime citrus, and a stinging ethyl edge softened by a subtle wood tone. On the palate, soft honey and caramel unfold gently, followed by vanilla, mint, baking spice, and a distinct pepper note, complemented by a faint floral note. A layer of buttered toast emerges, accompanied by earthy petrichor. The finish is swift and silky. Vanilla and wood notes taper off into a lingering blend of baking spice, clinging black pepper, and earthiness. *At the driest point, several minutes later, I get airy brininess stuck on the palate. A great example of the influence of French Oak. Bravo
