El Viejito Plata 42% Now this is my kind of blanco. Big agave character, a little heat, black pepper and citrus, with a nice earthy sweetness underneath. The extra proof gives it more punch and texture without taking away from the agave. It feels rustic, honest and full of personality. Not trying to be delicate or fancy—and honestly, that’s exactly what I like about it.

Super value Fuerte high proof blanco. Mouthfeel & glass are thicker than their regular 42 proof Plata. Similar cooked agave, earthiness & vegetal aromas (but also a little citrus & minerality that the I couldn’t pick up in the plata). Flavors of agave, earthiness & vegetal w/ slight pepper finish. Definitely added value points for $35 highproof blanco through Pkgd Group.

Nothing at all wrong with this blanco! A little thin in the glass & mouth. Cooked agave, earthiness, vegetal, grass & herbal aromas. Similar flavors w/ tons of agave and slight pepper. Mild medium finish. Nothing off with this tequila. Super value @ $29 from Pkgd Group.

A little thin in the glass and mouthfeel. Aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, earth, slight oak and possibly apricot? Nice flavors of cooked agave, vanilla, pepper and possibly apricot. Mild medium finish w/ a little butter & vanilla. A pleasant repo at a very nice $35 price from Pkgd Group.

This is a blanco from 2000-2001. On the nose and taste is very strong vegetal with a a bit of sweetness from the agave. The vegetal overpowers the agave imo and didn't enjoy this one compared to other El Viejito bottles.

This El Viejito is more intense than others I've tried from this brand. The aromas come out more, you get a good amount of agave with some floral and little bit of vegetal funk on the nose. The taste is what stands out, at 1st it's bit hot but opens up and you get an agave punch with some pepper and cement/buttery taste. The finish is mid to a bit long, has a nice lingering in the mouth. This has been a favorite from this brand.
