Barrel notes and little else in terms of tequila

Nose: Clove and pipe tobacco lead the way, with cherry and oak giving it a sort of dark, woody warmth. There’s some citrus tucked in there too. Palate & Mouthfeel: Thin and watery with no structure to hang onto. The flavors hit all at once: vanilla, oak, orange, and a heavy dose of baking spice. It’s cloyingly sweet, like someone dropped a spice rack into an orange creamsicle. There’s no agave presence here just dessert in a glass. Finish: Surprisingly, the finish is the most enjoyable part. The sweetness fades and you’re left with lingering baking spice that keeps things from completely falling apart. Final Thoughts: This is a barrel driven tequila with a sweet tooth and zero agave soul. It’s not offensive, and the spice on the finish helps, but the overall profile feels more like a flavored whiskey than tequila. Pleasant enough to sip once but not something I’d come back to.

Ran across this in the bowling alley bar. Aroma of caramel, cooked agave, oak and butter. Flavor of cooked agave, black pepper, caramel and oak. Not much finish. Good value, though.

Artificial Vanilla, Oak, Carmel

The aroma offers a bouquet of heavy caramel, light oak, whiskey, butterscotch, and potent vanilla ice cream, with a subtle hint of ethyl. The agave note is muted but discernible. On the palate, the flavor profile includes cooked agave with a prune note, butterscotch, alcohol, whiskey, and pepperiness. Distinct oakiness, quickly passing candied yam, subtle fruitiness, and a pronounced doctored sugariness, which I find unappealing, are also present. The finish bounds with ultra sweetness that lingers throughout. Light oak, mild spice, minimal salinity, and a pepperiness that tingles without being harsh leading to a lasting whiskey tone. The overall sweetness is excessive, reminiscent of drinking liquid butterscotch and vanilla extract.

Aroma is very sweet with vanilla, cream soda and light cinnamon. Taste is on par with aroma and fairly sweet. Not much happening with the finish.

Awe man c’mon Dwayne … I had high hopes for this brand based on the labeling & web site claims . They have their own new distillery after all and do everything right . Even the price is good . BUT the tequila just doesn’t measure up , unfortunately. Not sure why unless they’re messing with additives . It’s not bad , by any means, just ok . Celebrity or not , why go thru all the effort when the aromas & taste don’t come close to the hype or claims ? There’s some smooth minor spice s , very little agave ( it’s important if you’re tequila ) some kinda of mellow , worn out oak . Some Carmel or butterscotch like flavors . Bummed & disappointed.

On the nose, I’m getting raw agave, butterscotch, paint thinner, and freshly mowed wet grass. Altogether fairly decent considering the lower price point, although generally disappointing for an anejo. With my first sip, I’m getting a sweet baking spice bomb. Clove, white pepper, yeast, tobacco, and white sugar. I’m also getting orange oil, but without the mouthfeel. This product is super water, especially for something aged over a year. I am disappointed that I get none of the agave from the nose. The finish follows through with clove and white sugar, palatable and sweet. Not a bottle I’d return to or recommend to a friend. Might do well in a wisconsin style Old Fashioned, especially if split 50/50 with brandy.

A lighter color Anejo. Nice agave flavors in the smell with a little vanilla from the barrel and a little heat. Flavor are more of the same with the barrel and vanilla picking up, mixing nice with the heat. Vanilla flavors are not cake frosting. A little agave in the back before with the vanilla and head combing in back in a nice way. I find it drinks nice especially at the price point. It uses the heat nicely. Makes a nice Anejo Manhattan.

Not very good. Better at same price. Sweet smell-additives. Burn at end. Alcohol.

Lote 22AA035624. Bottle F756K Nom 1613. Alcohol up front on the nose followed by vanilla and caramel. Taste seems artifical in my opinion. Not much agave and almost syrup like sweetness. Not horrible but not great.

Agave, some mint and hints of alcohol on the nose. Yellow-straw color in the glass. Thin to medium mouthfeel. Sweet agave, vanilla and caramel with some spice and a peppery bite. Finish is a bit short. Points for price but not necessarily enough for a repeat performance. ;)

Vanilla and caramel notes in the nose. First sips were REALLY hot, which overpowered everything else. Vanilla pops through once you’ve acclimated to the burn.

Vanilla Bomb with more "burn" in the finish than I would like. For 105 dollars in Canada, there are better choices.

A bit peppery compared to some other additive tequilas in its price bracket.

This one loses me a bit in comparison to the blanco and repo. Unlike those, this one tastes like Casamigos Additives. Classic vanilla bomb disguises subtler flavors that are there, but hard to distinguish. I'd recommend this over Casamigos and its other vanilla amigos, but get the repo instead for an actual oak/agave balance.

For $36 bucks at Walmart, its not bad. Definitely reminds, of a lesser Casamigos. No doubt its has additives.

This is a vanilla bomb. It is good, however a purist will not like this one. Definitely aimed at the average American palate.

A well made product if you like additives. Vanilla and caramel definitely overwhelm, but its eminently drinkable and a good value. Not what I’m looking for in an añejo personally

It has a nice flavor for what we all know it is. It's allright to sip on, but better in an old fashioned in my opinion. Salud!
