“Sharp, astringent nose. Almost sea breeze with salt. Like breaking a stalk of a plant in front of your nose on a beach. Very mellow flavor. Not super complex. Just cooked agave. Short, almost abrupt finished. Overall, not my favorite. Maybe as a base of a flavorful marg, but not a great sipper. ”

“On the nose: best way I can describe it bright and clean. Strong agave and citrus odors. On the palate, more of the same. Cooked agave and citrus notes. Some floral tones as well. Light and refreshing, easy to drink. Just complex enough to make you think. Finish is about prefect, just long enough to remind you, not so long it gets old. Hint of black pepper just to bring it up a notch. Overall, this is an outstanding blanco. ”

“Bright and citrusy aroma, with the kick of the high proof. On the palate, initially deceptive flavors of cooked agave, cinnamon, and earth. Then the high proof hits and makes all those flavors brighter and bolder, leaving a lingering finish that just keeps going. Amazing. ”

“Agave and butterscotch on the nose. The higher proof hits when in a Glencarin. Oily, thick mouthfeel. The butterscotch comes through on the palate. Long, lingering finish, agave just sticks around. Overall, delightful. ”

“Caramel and vanilla with the agave undertones on the nose. Almost a wet leather on the palate. Cloves and spices as well. Fairly complex flavor. Short finish. Banana and earthy. My friend who is a whiskey connoisseur really liked it. I felt it was a decent anejo, but not amazing. ”

“Amazing sweet agave nose. Some vegetal notes and citrus. Easy on the palate. Stronger vegetal and herbal flavor. Some citrus. Shorter finish than I was expecting for a high proof. Touch weak. Overall, not bad. Not absolutely amazing though. ”

“Caramel and vanilla with agave sweetness on the nose. Thinner, oily mouthfeel with the barrel notes coming in strong. Agave on the backend. Long, complex finish with anise, muted pepper, and tobacco. I agree with another reviewer who said this would be amazing at a higher proof, but for a cold and snowy evening, it really hit the spot. ”

“Agave and some black pepper on the nose. Spicy on the palate, with the agave strongly forward. Longer finish due to the higher proof with more black pepper flavor. Overall, I think the repo is a little better, but this is an amazing blanco. ”

“Heavy notes of butterscotch on the nose. Lighter on the palate, but a burst of gentle flavors, with a full, rounded mouthfeel. Lingering, soft finish. This was amazing. ”

“Bright, clean citrus smell. Strong cooked agave. Agave on the palate, with some pepper and almost the wet cement taste, but not unpleasant. Long, lingering complex finish. For me, this one is a little harder to describe because of the multitude of smalls and flavors. But they all work together so well it’s a delight to sip. ”

“This is so disgustingly sweet I can’t drink it straight. I put some on some vanilla ice cream and it was kinda palatable. ”

“Notes of butterscotch, vanilla and caramel. Spicy and hot finish but doesn’t linger so it’s not bad. Mouthfeel is a little Oily, but not unpleasant at all. This was recommended as a fall tequila and I agree. It would go well with some cinnamon and simple syrup heated up. ”

“I love Arte Nom 1123, so I was really looking forward to trying the OG tequila from 1123. It didn’t disappoint. Agave and citrus on the nose. Hint of black pepper. Palate is flavorful with more pepper and some earthiness. Finish is a bit short as the citrus hits. Overall, a delight. (But I still like the Arte Nom better…) I would put this on par with Lalo as a decent sipper and a great mixer. ”

“Barrel hits harder on this one. Vanilla and oak. You get the classic Fortaleza earthiness and sweetness,(maple and a little butterscotch) on the finish. ”

“The barrel tames the pepper of the blanco and adds caramel and a hint of vanilla. Still some earthiness but it’s tempered. Overall, amazingly delicious and am well worth the hunt to find. ”

“Sweet agave on the nose, loses some on the palate. Short finish. This would probably be a good mixer, it was an ok sipper. ”

“Overall, this tasted like a decent whiskey. It did not taste like tequila. I got a lot of barrel notes and the smokiness from the char, with just a hint of sweetness. The flavor is complex and strong, with lots of oak. ”

“Fruity nose. Some vanilla. Less agave on the nose. Barrel notes coming through on the palate, vanilla and oak, with the agave coming through on the end. Short finish, with more vanilla and agave undertones. This is a great blend of the agave and the barrel. Not over-Oaked at all. Really good sipper. ”

“Strong alcohol smell on the nose. Almost overwhelms the agave. Decent mouthfeel, but an astringent flavor that was not my favorite. Lingering almost sour finish. I typically like repos, but this one was not my favorite. ”

“Strong agave, black pepper and citrus on the nose. Mild on the palate, minerality comes through and the agave flavor continues. Finish has some ethanol burn, but lingers well. Overall, pretty good. Little sharper alcohol flavor than i prefer. I think the 101 has more diverse flavors. ”

“On the nose: Cooked agave. Mineral/earthy, Palate: almost a pear flavor under the agave. Hints of black pepper. Mouth feel: solid, not overwhelming Finish lingers with more of the pear flavor. Overall, a solid repo. I’ve had more complex, but this is easy to drink. ”

“On the nose: strong agave. Very slight alcohol smell. On the palate: the alcohol goes away. Strong agave and hints of black pepper. Solid minerality. The alcohol hits on the finish but not as bad as I thought for a still strength. The flavors longer as the warmth hits. Overall, this is amazing. ”
