mineral nose and palate it’s good

Nose: An earthy nose led by rich cooked agave, underscored by clay and a touch of olive brine. There’s a raw, vegetal quality from fresh agave, rounded out by black pepper spice in the background. Palate & Mouthfeel: Light on the tongue, the mouthfeel is thin but not lacking in flavor. Cooked agave leads once again, joined by floral and saline notes. Anise adds a faint licorice twist, while black pepper and jalapeño bring heat and a fresh, green spice. There’s a deep earthiness that ties it all together, making it feel honest and unrefined in the best way. Finish: The finish leans into the savory - salty butterscotch impressions without the sweetness, followed by a slow-building wave of black pepper and subtle baking spice. It’s long, warm, and pleasantly dry. Final Thoughts: A no-nonsense tequila with a focus on agave and terroir. Bold, briny, and pepper-forward, this is a fantastic sipper for those who appreciate tequila in its authentic form. Even better, it’s an exceptional value for what it delivers.

Really good! So smooth for high proof. Fairly neutral, almost floral aroma. The taste is excellent with lots of agave and a light touch. The finish is my favorite part just lots of agave and light cinnamon. Update may 2025– tasted blind and adjusted up two points. This one is even better than my first taste!

Nose:agave vegwetal anise, apricot, floral and alcohol Mouthfeel: medium to full bodied Palate: Chocolate, black pepper cooked agave, minerality Finish: Herbal, black Pepper, alcohol and cinnamon on the finish This was decent. It certainly got a lot of points for value. My critique on this one is that the alcohol was a bit over powering and seemed to mute some of the agave.

First smell after letting it sit about 10 minutes is alcohol and light perfume but only in my nose, not tasting it, enticing. Now it’s cider, pear, and agave, exciting. Tasting pepper, agave, pear. Long, tingly, and flavorful HP finish. Glad I his this one away for a bit. Really enjoying it this time around!

I had the opportunity to give this high proof version a try. Aroma of cooked agave, black pepper, vegetal, herbal and, of course, alcohol. Flavors were similar and still got that touch of higher alcohol. A warm, medium-long finish.

Nose: agave / earth / pepper/ melon / orange peel / lemongrass / hay / sage / mineral/ alcohol Taste: agave / pepper / earth / vanilla / banana/ melon / cream soda / orange peel / licorice/ tea / spearmint Finish: very crisp watery mouthfeel with a lingering enjoyable bittersweet and earthy last taste that transforms into a cinnamon aftertaste. This blanco fuerte takes great advantage of the high abv to provide a huge amount of flavor. It does very well keeping the alcohol taste at bay and delivers a nice bright finish.

First and foremost let this breathe for 10 minutes- it's worth the extra time. N- caramelized agave dominates the nose. There's some herbs and cinnamon in there, along with some black pepper, and apple T- again the sweet cooked agave is the star but adds a lot of complexity. Pineapple, jalapeno heat, baking spice, herbs like rosemary (?), and even some mint kicking around the grass MF- thin F- the finish is pretty awesome! It starts spicy sweet and finishes long with just a bit of peppery heat and herbs

Agave and mint on the nose. It is earthy with brine. Not a very complex nose. Taste is agave and alcohol. I love HPs that use the high ABV to bring out greater flavor. This is not one of them that the ABV makes it better. I prefer the 40 ABV Arette Blanco. I do get a finish with nice viscosity and a finish of olive. I could recommend this but it won’t be high on my list.

Blind rating: 1/31/2024 score of 89 Aroma: minerality right from the jump followed by a small amount of ethanol. Hints of pear, thyme, anise, clove, and cinnamon. Flavor: lots of cooked agave sweetness followed immediately by minerality and earthiness. There’s a wet cement sharpness to it with an almost watered down grape-like flavor right behind it. Finish is medium-long in length. With a citrus like sweetness and chili pepper type heat that slightly warms the lower chest.

The alcohol definitely hits you on the nose and the tongue (in a good way). The high proof allows an appreciation of the agave flavors, natural sweetness, but does have a minor bitter finish. A great sipping tequila that belongs in the bar.

This is so good! Absolutely love the flavor on this. The cooked agave shines through with hints of black pepper, green pepper, grass, and herbs. One of my absolute favorite high proofs at a great value for the quality like everything out of Arette!

Nose- cooked agave, citrus, spring water(lil minerality, pepper Taste-nice agave cinnamon up front, citrus, little anise, pepper. Very clean tasting. UPDATED 12/30/23 loads of cinnamon in the forefront from the cooked agave. Nice subtle minerality throughout, definitely not overpowering but instead enhances the natural agave sweetness. Then flows into the slight bitterness of the citrus. I think some kind of peel, I would say orange peel that goes all the way to the finish line where it’s paired with pepper. Mouth feel is viscous with pepper front start to end. Super enjoyable. Strap in for the ride my friends.

On the nose, brine. Agave, a bit of ethanol but not over the top. I love that brininess. On the palate, lots of agave and “spiciness” for lack of a better term. A slight vegetal note and some ethanol bite. Some cinnamon. Overall solid stuff. Very good price on it too. One of the “smoother” high proofs imo.

High proof Blanco where the flavor shines more than the alcohol. Had an earthy vegetal profile. Very enjoyable.

Loved both the 101 Fuerte and 101 Artesanal Fuerte. A one point nod to the horno cooked Artesanal.

Sample via Agave Swappers Nose: Agave bomb with some vegetal and minty notes. Flavor: Cooked agave, quite a bit of mint (spearmint and peppermint sort of going back and forth), black pepper, herbal, and vegetal. Long finish with mostly pepper and mint. It's interesting because the adjectives I used to describe this are similar to the Gran Legado SS, but it's actually quite different.

Strong on the nose, note of traditional agave. Taste has a cinnamon heat with a prolonged finish. Overall good sipper.

This is a great, affordable, and accessibile, high-proof. There is a little more alcohol on the nose than top high-proof, but the flavor is powerful with agave, citrus, and a little baking spice.

Nose: Hay, Citrus, pepper, and light cooked agave. Palate: Undercooked agave sweetness, a raw sweet, vegetal and wet grass, which gives way to minerality and a pleasant heat mid palate. Finish: Sweetness deepens with a hint of Pinneapple, and lingering mint. This one really hits good for the price.
