The French oak implementation is pronounced & adds an enormous amount of depth to this exceptional anejo. Red current, cinnamon, stewed apple, chocolate, date, prune, grape skin, raspberry jam barrel spice, pear, flowers and black pepper. On the palate, cinnamon, vanilla, stewed apple, dark chocolate, citrus marmalade, grape jam, pepper, raspberry jam, lemon, malolactic funk, minerality, saline, and cooked agave. Additionally, I have found this Anejo for as low as 50$. Fantastic value

Inviting nose of butterscotch, candied nuts, and grapes. Similar flavors with additions of cinnamon, vanilla, and oak. Flavors keep revealing in waves. Really interesting cognac barrel anejo that has its own layered profile.

All around excellent! Not overly sweet despite the strong barrel notes. Nice job! Taste and finish are so great! Plenty of barrel but not overstepping the agave.

https://cambiotequila.com/spare-change/our-new-flagship-anejo-and-why-barreling-is-crucial-to-tequilas-future/?_newblogfilter=tequila-talk This link describes in much detail the process and the reasoning behind the brand and this product. Did they accomplish what they set out to do? I think so, not many 49% Añejo products in the market, so this is a real treat at that ABV. It reminds me on the nose of some older Tears of Llorona with pineapple icon that I sipped at NYE. Sipping this though is a bit more of a punch in the mouth than the 43% ToL. Nice extended bite on the finish and the tongue is fully involved with caramel, vanilla, roast agave, and the different French Oaks used. My rating is for the Cellar Series which is not in the app.

Aroma: a super complex and inviting nose. I get agave, tons of fruit, leather, and some cinnamon. Taste: again, super complex and tasty. I get green apples specifically in addition to everything listed above. Lots of pepper. It has an almost dry quality I associate with champagne or white wine. Finish: long and peppery. Overall: I really like it.

What a delicious anejo from the nose to the palate, with cinnamon, Carmel, butterscotch, and vanilla barrel notes. But the Agave shines. An excellent buy.

A: buttercream, agave, barrel spice T: vanilla, wood, pepper, agave sweetness, plum this was fantastic, extremely diverse flavor profile due to the blend of barrel aging used. very sweet but not in a fake or bad way. lots of wine notes and citrus undertones. works absolutely great in an old fashioned.

buttery nose with cinnamon, caramel, oak, vanilla, burnt toast, dried fruit. the agave is present as well. very rich and complex palate which carries all the same notes of the nose plus butterscotch, fig, some sour fruit, too. really nice. a warming spice as it reaches the back of the throat. the higher proof works perfectly. luscious mouthfeel. the grape note really makes itself known on the finish. this is one fine Añejo! tasted side by side with Fortaleza Añejo and what really stands out is the nose on this Cambio. It's to die for. rated this a couple points higher than Fortaleza based on the nose and value, especially for the higher proof, though the Fortaleza presents more agave on the palate.

If you enjoy cognac this one is for you. I don’t really get much agave on this one but it’s an interesting expression for sure.

NOM 1605 LOTE 1AN46CA-003. I like what they are doing with this one. The nose has some caramel, oak and fruit. The palate is nice with lots of fruit, which is very enjoyable, and some cinnamon and spices. The finish stays with you. A little on the sweet side but not in a bad way by any means. Love the higher proof and the price point is exceptional. Well done.

For an anejo it is not too overpowering, but a beautiful blend. It does not go down like a 46%, and truly has great aroma and flavor. Aroma - caramel, toffee, fruity, wet wood Taste - caramel, butterscotch, wet wood, brine, leather

Aroma: agave, oak, fruit, grape, butterscotch Taste: oak & fruit barrel notes but still get agave, hint of butterscotch. Finish: nice lingering oak & grape remain on palate until next sip. $60 from Old Town Tequila, tremendous price for an exceptional Anejo that is balanced with not overly sweet barrel notes.
