This was a standout blanco. Bold, expressive, and unapologetically mineral driven. It feels rugged in the best way and really lives up to the Las Rocas name. On the nose, cooked agave comes through first, followed quickly by a strong mineral presence. Bright citrus and orange peel add some lift, while black pepper brings a bit of bite. There’s a clear vegetal and earthy backbone, with a distinctive wet cement note that gives it a raw, terroir forward character. On the palate, the cooked agave remains front and center, supported by intense minerality. Citrus and black pepper keep things lively, while mint adds a cooling contrast. Vegetal and earthy notes carry through, joined by that unmistakable wet cement character. Anise shows up subtly on the back end, along with brine, giving the finish a savory, mouthwatering quality that lingers. Overall, this is a bold, character driven blanco. If you love minerality and earthy complexity, this one really delivers. A memorable tequila that rewards slow, thoughtful sipping.

Aroma: Cooked agave, earth, black pepper, vegetal, wet cement. Palate: Cooked agave, black pepper, vegetal, wet cement, minerals. Finish: Lingering minerals and wet cement with cooked agave and pepper. This bottle has a very nice finish. Montague is a brand that is using a unique resting process at NOM 1123 where they use concrete tanks (custom made concrete egg) to rest their tequila which gives it an awesome flavor! Great bottle just somewhat hard to find unless you’re in a state with a good tequila market. Snag a bottle if you find one!

Wow! We love 1123 but this kicks it up a notch. I was hoping for a little more aroma, but it’s still really good. The taste is sensational! With all that minerality and agave sweetness. Definite cement on the taste. Finish is long and good with more creekside reminiscence.

Vessel: CT Trail Jarrito Nose: minerality, cement, mint, ggave, limestone, grass, salt Body: light to medium Palate: agave, jalapeño, anise, cement Finish: agave, jalapeño, cream soda, citrus, spearmint There's definitely a signature cascahuin influence, but it seemed a bit milder than some of the other expressions from the distillery. I still got that concrete and minerality, but maybe with a bit less herbal influence that I often find in harmony with the minerality and petrochor notes that the Cascahuin distillery is known for. Still, this is another solid release from 1123 and probably my favorite from the Montagave lineup to date.

The mouthfeel on this is amazing. Great subtle sweetness from the agave almost like a honey suckle. Loads of pepper, and nice citrus zest. On the nose I get wet concrete, wet cement and tons of minerality

I love all blancos from 1123 and this one is right up there with the best of them. The nose is incredible. Sweet cooked agave, minerals, brine, pepper and green vegetables. The palette has many of the same qualities with a cement/clay chalkiness to it in a good way. Great finish with not too much heat. Definitely another winner by Chava and Co. Congrats to Montagave!

This is damn near perfect. I’ve got nothing else to add that would be helpful.

What a great long-term sipper! It 45% abv and is still easy to drink with a rewarding finish. Lots of mint, roasted agave, cinnamon, and olive. There’s also a sweet creamy finish that follows every sip.

To be clear I have a preference for 1123. My palate and nose love most products coming from this distillery and I admit I have a bias. Nose: Agave, salt, anise, brine, cement, minerals, hay, pear, earth, grass and spearmint. Palate: Agave, mint, light viscosity and comfortable mouthfeel with some black pepper. Crisp and pleasant to sip but I definitely got more from the nose than from the taste. Beautiful summer sipper and extremely easy to drink so beware at 90 proof! Finish: Easy roll of black pepper off the tongue that lasted for 10+ seconds and left me wanting more.

Minerality maximum! An austere, sharp, refined blanco. Super interesting. Not a ton of residual sweetness, but if you like gravelly blancos ( like me) this is the bomb.

Very unique fermentation with a cement egg. I believe the first of its kind. I love anything Cascahuin does when they ferment in their legendary cement tanks. This was different. A little mellower, some nice citrus notes, easy to sip. Herbal notes, the 45 ABV was a nice touch, low heat. Nice finish

This blanco is without a doubt in my top 3. Nose, loads of agave, minerals, citrus, (orange peel), wet cement, vegetal, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate I get a ton of cooked agave, lots of minerality, some nice citrus, a touch of black pepper, vegetal and earthy. This is absolutely insanely delicious. Moderately complex, mouthwatering and savory, it begs you for another sip. Love love LOVE this blanco. 92 for me all day long !!!

only takes a hit on its value, $70+ for a blanco is Cazcanes territory. But it's much better than Cazcanes
