Cazcanes No. 9 Blanco
“heavy floral and agave nose. Strong agave sweetness followed by some peppery heat, the 100 proof definitely adds a punch but surprisingly smooth considering. ”

Mijenta Tequila Añejo
“Sweetness on the nose, citrus, feint oakiness. Complex mouthfeel. Oak appeared upfront but it quickly subsides and the agave comes out. Caramel, nice underlying sweetness throughout. Very little heat, very balanced with a lingering finish that makes it both easier to enjoy the flavor between sips but also begs you to sip again. ”

Montagave Blanco 'Héritage'
“ slightly aged in wine barrels and you can definitely tell from the looks of it - nice pink hue. As for the juice itself, amazing! Agave sweetness on the nose, hints of the wine definitely come through, a little brininess. Very refreshing to drink. A little spiciness throughout but finished smooth, hints of the wine come through, lots of agave. It has a nice sweetness as you finish each sip. I have to say that I’m a big fan of this one!”
More info →“sweet nose, lots of agave, oak. Definitely smells lighter than it tastes. First pour so it’s a bit hot, very spicy throughout, lots of oak, hints of vanilla. The longer it sits, the more the agave starts to come through. Very enjoyable special blend from El Tequileño”

Recently had the ~18 and it fell flat but this one still has lots of flavor. Great nose - cherry, almost like a whiskey, oak, agave, orange. A little heat throughout, very oaky taste that dominates but hints of sweetness, caramel and agave. I have to admit this particular bottle is still pretty solid. ”

Tequila 512 Reposado
“lots of agave from my initial smell, a slight fruitiness as well. Banana (honestly not sure where that came from but I’m sticking with it haha), caramel, fruit, a little spiciness throughout that hits at the end and lingers with the finish. ”
More info →“after letting it breathe for a min, I really started to notice a smoky brininess on the nose with just little hints of agave that start to come out more as it sits. I can almost feel the heat in my nose. Definitely spicy, peppery throughout that leaves a bit of tingle for the finish. Almost a little bit of a saltiness. But it still has a light agave sweetness throughout. Very enjoyable, definitely a nice twist to the typically great El Tesoro. ”

Wild Common Tequila Reposado
“lots of agave, light sweetness, a little oak on the nose. The taste continues that light feel. Subtle sweetness of the agave throughout, a bit of spice and pepper, a little heat with the 43% but still incredibly smooth. This tequila is light across the board but overall a really enjoyable and refreshing reposado. Very easy to sip and enjoy. ”
More info →“finally cracked this one open and wow! Surprisingly not a lot on the nose at first but I started to pick up a little salty briny scent. Then it’s just bursting with flavors, sweet, spicy, peppery some oak but very finely balanced. This one is very pleasant to sip as it gives you a little bit of everything throughout. ”

Rey Sol Extra Añejo
“sweet nose, vanilla agave. Very dark in color which tells of the age but it doesn’t smell overly woody. You definitely taste the oak though. The sweetness hits you up front but quickly fades to the oaky pepper taste you are left with. Some caramel and a bit of heat throughout that lingers a bit but nothing overwhelming. ”

Pasote Extra Añejo
“light sweetness on the nose but the taste is all pepper, a little oak but really light for an Extra Añejo. A little heat but the agave comes through on the finish. I don’t remember loving this the first time I had it but I feel like this has opened up incredibly. Definitely a fan, very enjoyable to drink.”

Partida Roble Fino Tequila Añejo
“This is a pretty unique one but I’m a fan. It is aged 18 months in ex bourbon barrels followed by an extra 5 months in single malt Sherry casks, which definitely gives it some unique tastes. I need to find the Reposado now! Cherry nose. Toasted oak, it’s 90 proof so definitely some heat but it doesn’t linger, feint agave sweetness and vanilla throughout. ”

“lightly sweet smell, oak, cinnamon, almost a little fruity. The first taste that hits you is definitely the oak but it quickly subsides into a smooth dynamic flavor. There is almost no burn at all and even after ten years in barrels you can still taste the agave. It really is quite enjoyable. ”
