“Had a chance to try this while in Jalisco Mexico with the founder and a group of friends. This XA is aged five years in American Oak. The bottle is stunning! But more importantly, the tequila inside is a true luxury sipper. AND it’s verified added a free! Notes of, caramel, honey, chocolate, light tobacco, and baking spices on the nose. The long barrel aging time gives this Tequila, a nice silky mouth feel with notes of caramel, vanilla, baking spices, dark fruits and hints of wine (even though the barrels were not previously used for wine). This is a lovely extra extra splurge and if I could afford it, I would always have a bottle in my bar lol! I understand and respect that there is a niche market for this bottle so kudos to everyone who is able to purchase one of these gems. ”

“Toasted oak & smokiness, citrus, baking spices on the nose. Initially on the palette, light citrus, dark fruit, toasted oak, & baking spices, predominantly cinnamon. Flavors that followed after sipping a bit longer were caramel & espresso. Finish is long, warm and earthy. At 44% ABV this Añejo has a punch of flavor. There’s definitely a barrel influence from the Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace and Old Forester barrels. Delicious! Perfect for the bourbon drinker transitioning into tequila.”

“On the nose cooked agave, green, apple, lemon, mint, light, basil, rain, vegetal. The palate is not as sweet as it smells. The palate is not as sweet as it smells. It did have a lightly sweet flavor, and I could taste the baked agave. Had a strong white pepper and mint flavor. With every sip, I tasted a little more anise, menthol and brine. The finish was long and minty. ”

On the third sip notes of orange rind, light lemon, minerality , roasted jalapeño, and roasted pineapple came through. it ended with a touch of rosemary. Nice long finish. Warm tingly comes.”

“This was like drinking sweetened water. So sweet! Like watered down caramel. And I enjoy tequilas with a sweeter profile but this was just not good. ”

“Lots of vanilla on the nose followed by caramel, butterscotch, spices and oak. The flavor is very sweet & spicy. Caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, and oak. Medicinal, aftertaste and short finish. The bottle is beautiful, unfortunately, the Tequila does not live up to the beauty of the bottle. ”
