Alma del Jaguar Tequila Blanco
“Nothing too noteworthy on the nose. Mouth feel is great. On the palate it's minty and sweet with peppermint and citrus dominating the flavors for me. It's very clean and light and while the finish isn't exceptionally long, it does linger making it a great sipper. Definitely one I try to keep on the shelf along with Mijenta and Ocho as solid staples.”

“Beautiful agave with vanilla and spice and even a little grassiness mixed in. The most amazing part is how balanced and long the finish is. Nice oily mouth feel is just a bonus.”

“Not so great on the nose for me. Notable alcohol smell had me thinking this was a one and done. It drinks much better although it’s pretty sweet and has no complexity in my opinion. Smooth and easy to sip though and finishes fairly nicely. At $70, probably not the best value as Siete Leguas is $20 cheaper and better if you ask me. Plenty of others beat this out at the same price as well but all in all, it’s enjoyable.”

“SL Anejo and Repos are some of my favs so when I saw $37 for the blanco, how could I say no (despite having Ocho and Lalo on the shelf next to it)? Nose is amazing with sweet agave and some spice. Up front, lots of pepper and some grassy notes but there was just enough alcohol taste that I decided to add a cube of ice. That did the trick and you could really taste the spice, agave, pepper, and a little mint. Tremendous value under $40 but I’d still go for Ocho or Lalo as a sipper having tried this one.”

LALO Tequila Blanco
“Never thought it could compete with Ocho but here we are. Smooth but not overtly sweet. It’s a great balance of minerality with caramel/vanilla. Great on the nose and amazing on the tongue”

“Lots of grass and pepper with distinct cinnamon. A little caramel and vanilla as secondary. Just enough spice to be interesting from start to finish. Speaking of finish, this one finishes fairly long with just a tiny bit of warmth.”

“Good sipper but what Id call a whisky lovers tequila. I prefer more agave forward taste and if I want whisky, I’ll drink bourbon. Peppery with a little warmth and some caramel/butterscotch hints.”

“Possibly my favorite repo for easy sipping. Great on the nose and finish and not terribly complex. Just straightforward and no surprises. ”
