“Has a jalapeño honey pepper thing with some florals. Very honey forward. Finish ends with some bitters' notes of arugula and cacao. Drinks easy for the proof. Very faint hint of the 1146 funk after more pours.”

Almatitán Tequila Alma Plata
“This one is different from other blancos. Tastes like honey water with paprika and spices - it has Sotol characteristics. Red pepper, paprika, tomato, jalapeno, honey, lime. Touch of malolactic sourness at the end. Mouth feel is on the thin side and drinks easy for the proof.”

Compoveda Blanco
“Got notes of raw potato, spicy greens, pineapple, hint medicinal, and a fried oil note. It has other familiar 1414 blanco notes. Pretty good.”

“Lacking complexity for the price tag. Not bad but lots of better options out there for half the cost”

Compoveda Extra Añejo
“Sweetest XA I ever had. Lots of Maple Syrup on taste and the texture is thick like maple syrup. Notes of soil, mushroom, apricots, peach, graham crackers, caramel, oak. Nose is quite nice and there's no burn. It is tasty but not worth the $190 tag with the added sugar and glycerin. Definitely something non-afficianados would love.”

Calle 23 Blanco
“Nice nose with citrus, wheat, sour pollen. Taste has citrus, fruit, nuts, minerals and mint. The finish thins out fast. Mid complexity overall but nice.”

Zumbador Tequila Blanco
“Florals, acetone, nuts, pollen, herbs, grass. Fair amount of complexity. Very good for the price - one of the best. Not my top profile in a blanco but it gets better with time making me like it more. ”
More info →“Got this as a gift. Nose had a very noticeable gusano worm along with hay and some tobacco. Silky mouthfeel. Taste had pear, apricot, cherry, bitter gusano worm, salt, touch smoke. It's not bad but very different from other XAs I had. Has an aged Monte Alban vibe. Not something I would buy for the $150+ price tag.”

Siete Leguas Blanco 47
“Very nice HP from 7L. Mainly getting earthy minerality notes - reminds me of a salty sparkling water. Nose has hints of florals, greens, citrus, and mushroom. I would have liked more depth on the pallete and finish. ”
