“Aroma is sweet with lots of wood. Flavor is decent and very drinkable while the finish is oily which is what I like. It’s hard for me to distinguish the flavor notes. It’s very much like whisk(e)y and I would recommend this to a whisky drinker any day. ”

“Single Barrel Añejo, Cerro Grande 54.5% ABV / 109 Proof Cold filtration not used Lacking other information specific to this tequila. Assuming similar process to other single barrel Añejo expressions from Ocho (open-air fermentation in wood tanks without fibers). I generally prefer tequila fermented with fibers, though this is a very good juice. This is a delicious tequila but a little pricy for the lack of complexities in the taste and aroma. That said, there is something about the taste that makes me want to go back for more every time. The flavor is strong but not breathtaking. As far as Tequila Ocho goes, this may be one of my favorite expressions so far. This is the most expensive bottle I’ve purchased from Ocho at $80 USD. ”

“Amazing. You can really taste the barrel on top of the complex agave spirit. I would call it buttery. If it was cheaper I’d drink it every day!”

“It’s pretty good. Really shines in simple mixed drinks like lime and seltzer water. I could see it making a nice Paloma and, of course, a margarita. I would even shoot this tequila. For under $40 you have yourself a non-celebrity endorsed, quality tequila. ”

“Wow! The finish takes so long and I love that. Both the slight burn and the incredible flavor linger for nearly 2 minutes. The flavor is very vegetative and fresh. Lots of raw agave taste on this one and I am 100% here for it. And the smell - one of a kind. Can’t think of another tequila that smells so damn good. It might not stand up to Fortaleza’s SS blanco but for under $70, it’s a total winner. ”

“Found a 1 liter bottle for $30. For the price, there really is no complaining. Good sipper for a budget, but better off in cocktails and for shots. Overall, really nothing special. Somewhat thin and empty compared to options that add just $15 to the bill. ”
