“These releases from Lost Lore just don’t sit with me. I’m not sure of the appeal of mixing a stout beer with tequila. I want agave. I want citrus. O don’t want beer in a Tequila. ”

“This is a vastly underrated sip. Nose is nice and bright, full of citrus. Palette is nice viscosity, with notes of cooked agave, buttery baking spices. Subdued and well balanced sip. The finish is nice pepper and subtle sweet sugar cookie. Overall, this is such an underrated pour for the price. ”

“Nose: just a touch of barrel influence, some spicy gingerbread, candied apple Palette: bright, agave, punchy, gingerbread, well balanced, alcohol but richness, like you squeeze lemon juice on apple slices and then caramelize them. Finish: lingers long, nice and pleasant, nothing off putting Overall: really nice expression, creamy, rich, a touch of barrel, pepper, but really nice”

“Nose: a little hot on the nose, some barrel influence, Palette: thin, lacks body, no predominant flavor, barrel influence, Finish: mostly barrel, not much agave, some citrus Overall: lacks balance and agave as the star of the show. Maybe $40 or so, but not great otherwise. ”

“Nose: some fermentation notes, vegetal, citrus Palette: agave vanishes a bit, some sweetness, there’s a sweetness there that’s almost herbaceous, rosemary, sage, it clashes a bit with agave. I typically like wild fermentation, but it lack minerality and pronounced agave punch. Finish: not a pleasant overall finish, some sweetness that doesn’t seem to come fully from ripe agave. Overall: I could see it at $35-40, but otherwise it’s probably a pass for me. ”

“Nose: cantaloupe, pepper, ethanol, sour cherry, overall lots of fruit, some faint petrol, earthly forest floor. Like you accidentally step on an overripe fig/plum that fell on the ground. Palette: open fire pear/apple cobble, sour cherry, big hot flavor punch, definitely closer to mezcal than typical tequilas. Black tea notes as well. Faint faint smoke. Finish: strong plum finish, stone fruit, very pechuga-like Overall: very very different, wildly different from typical tequilas, loses some points for cost, but it is a really interesting expression. ”

“Barrel 12 LiquorKing 4mos Nose: vanilla, crème brûlée, caramel, cooked agave Palette: rich toasted oak, marshmallow, baking spice, some really nice cooked agave that isn’t bitter or offputting. Se faint pepper. Just a really nicely balanced sip. Finish: pepper and cooked agave linger long, but not overly hot or unbalanced. Overall: really really good sib. This one stands out from some of the other for it nice complexity while still being well balanced. I feel like 4 mos is a good length as 6+ may have been too much oak. ”

“This is one of my favorite Blancos of all time. It perfectly balances the sweetness of the criollo with beautiful rich agave, minerality and subtle hints of open air fermentation/vegetal. It’s likely not just one of my favorite Blancos, but ones of my favorite tequilas period. Sophie hit an absolute home run with this and I can’t wait for what’s next. ”

“Nose has herb, grass, pungent citrus, some ethanol. Really bright agave and lime. The palette is delicious with some nice mineral elements that is rich and buttery mouthfeel. Lots of nice cooked agave. The finish is really nice and long with loads pepper and sweet agave. Overall, a really delicious high proof sipper that shows off the Tahona minerality balance with agave really well. ”

“Bright citrus, a agave and pepper on the nose. The palette is nice rich agave that’s full of flavor that is the same as the nose. There’s some nice minerality as well. The finish lingers really nicely with nothing unpleasant, and gives some nice baking spice and cooked aged. Overall, really nice example of a well made high proof blanco that is well balanced and hits all of the right notes that you would expect and want. ”
