“Nose is medium bodied with toasty oak and sweet cooked agave. Deep color from barrel aging is misleading (not in a bad way) when compared to the palate. I get the oak flavor on the mouth with creamy agave but again, the color on this would indicate what I would expect to be a deeper rooted oak flavor. Still a great sipper! ”

“Absolute agave BOMB! Palate is juicy and rich agave complimented by a tiny bit of smokiness and minerality. Nose is delicious roasted agave with a tinge of cardamom. Absolutely outstanding pour. ”

“Absolutely wonderful pour! Fortunate enough I was gifted the bottle and it was purchased by the gifter @ MSRP. Sweet roasted agave and toasted oak on the nose with no sting. The palate is delicious cooked agave with sweet oak and anise + pepper. Is it worth going crazy to find the bottle? Perhaps not. There are many other delicious and readily available Añejo offerings out there. Still, great juice! ”

“Finally getting around the Reposado. Every time I find Fort, it’s ever offering EXCEPT Repo! Local Mexican restaurant by my house magically pulled this rabbit from behind the bar today. Sweet cooked agave fills the nose with hints of citrus and charred oak. A slight bit of pepper lingers as well. Huge agave bomb on the palate that is oh so unique to their juice. The pepper/anise I get on the backend of my palate is pleasant. Finish has a lovely oak tinge that’s not overwhelming. Great pour ! ”

“I was lucky enough to get my hands on this bottle! Alcohol lingers on the nose despite 10 mins of opening up in the glass. Oak does cut though the ethanol however with sweet cooked agave. This also had some alcohol bite the first few sips, followed by pepper and musky oak. Cooked agave shines through on the finish. Overall this is a great bottle and pour. Compared to their Widow Jane offering of years past, I’d say this one is the little brother to that. Cheers! ”

“A lot of barrel influence here. Smokey oak and deep caramel flavors are prevalent with delicious cooked agave. I get a little citrus on the finish that give it an interesting tang. Great pour ! ”

“Finally got my hands on this HP and wow! Extremely unique to say the least. Cooked agave bomb on the nose with a tinge of alcohol and good minerality. The minerality and cooked agave thoroughly shines through on the palate, a lot more minerality than I am used to with a HP. For the price, I think this is a fantastic bottle and pour! ”

“This was absolutely wonderful. The nose is reminisce of G4 Madera, with regard to both vegetal and minerality, decent amount of cooked agave as well. The same can be said for the palate, I get a lot of vegetal and mineral taste with the cooked agave shining through into the finish. I received this bottle for Christmas, along with a 2023 harvest as well that I am also eager to try! ”

“Been trying to get my hands on any form for Madera for quite some time now. This is the 2024 Lot #3 On the nose, cooked agave is there but with very crisp and clean presence. Almost indescribable. Minerality for the nose is also present with some vegetal undertones to close out. Palate is simply wonderful. Again, clean crisp cooked agave that I’ve rarely experienced across all my tastings/reviews. A bit of oiliness on the mouth feel which is nice. Nice peppery finish. ”

“First time with a Puntas release.. so I was very excited to try this! I let this open in the glass for 30 minutes. Alcohol prevalent on the nose with cooked agave and very earthy + floral. Agave bomb on the palate with that overproof heat as well. A bit of citrus is there, but is quickly taken over by the heat. Overall I really really enjoyed this! Will update this review most likely once the bottle opens up more. ”

“Solid pour. A lot of barrel influence across smell, taste and color. Cooked agave isn’t as prevalent as I’d like for an Añejo, but it’s slightly there with regard to sweetness. Lots of sweet oak and a bit of leather and earthiness. For the price, it’s a solid introductory Añejo for the bourbon lover making the switch to Agave spirits. ”

“This does very little for me. To be honest, I was gifted this over a year ago.. got lost in the back of the bar. Has the standard autoclave aroma, not a lot for the nose. Palate is very dry, little agave with some anise and pepper. Finish is very short. I’ve seen this on the shelf before and cannot believe they charge $65-$75 for this! ”

“Room One Eleven McKinney TX. This place boasts an impressive spirits list, especially in the tequila category. Went out on a limb with the Paradiso. Cognac/Wine influence is apparent in smell and taste. Vegetal and unique sweet oak on the nose. Palate is wine influenced and accompanied by butterscotch and slight black pepper. Finish was OK not great but got some cooked agave. ”

“LocalYocal in McKinney TX. This was absolutely outstanding. Waiting a year to try this pour. Barrel influence on the nose is light but pronounced. Color is very light despite age time and specific barrel type. Palate is a wonderful mix of cooked agave and oak that coats the entire mouth. Mellow vegetal and pepper on the finish. Would drink again! ”

“I’m weary on this one. Free pour at my local spot here in town. It wasn’t great but not terrible. For comparison, it blows the overrated Casa Dragones out of the water. Cooked Agave was there with a pepper finish. I know they promote additive free… but it feels like something is there..”

“Heavy alcohol to start with the nose, opened up nicely over time with sweet cooked agave, oak and some fruit. Palate is similar with mellow cooked agave and oak with a bit of dry fruit leather and some pepper. The finish on this was very short however. Would drink again! ”

“We have a “Thirsty Thursday” monthly group in my neighborhood. This month was tequila. Long story short.. this was one of the five blind tastings for the tequila category. Not sure what to say.. artificial on the nose with cotton candy essence and something that I could only describe as an oak scented candle. The palate.. oh my.. fake oak like a scented candle with a weird “oily” finish. I did not like this at all. No cooked agave and any oak that was there did not seem genuine or real..”

“2023 Harvest. This was awesome! Can’t believe I’m just now reviewing any type of Repo varietal they offer. Delicious cooked agave on the nose, not as intense as other offerings, but pleasant. I’m getting smoke and through that a bit of citrus. Sweet cooked agave fills the entire palate with a bit of earth and anise. The finish is very long with cooked agave an white pepper. ”

“On the nose I am finding sweet cooked agave, pepper, anise and earthiness with some minerality and olive brine. The palate stands to be same with a very long and pleasant finish. The cooked agave flavor is an absolute treat on the palate. Overall this bottle has a lot going on , and in the best way possible! This is an extremely great pour. Will definitely be purchasing a bottle soon ”

“The nose offers a a lot.. sweet cooked agave with crisp minerality and some form of fruit. The palate is pleasant, but lacks the robustness we like to see amongst other Blancos. White pepper and citrus hit the tastebuds, but the finish is short and fizzles out with slight brine. Overall I liked this, I think it would make a wonderful cocktail and a great introduction Blanco for those wanting to sip. ”

“MGM Poker Room, Las Vegas WOW! Olive, earth, minerality and AGAVE bomb on the nose. This is incredible to observe with the smelling senses. The olive brine hits the palate with a slight tinge of citrus and heavy earth with delicious cooked agave. Should have asked to see the bottle for the Lot # but regardless this was fantastic! ”

“MGM Grand Main Bar, Las Vegas Barrel influence is HEAVY on the nose, absolute oak bomb. Not a lot of agave here for the nose.. very faint. For an XA the flavor hits hard on the palate immediately.. but fizzles out quickly after. Very short finish with some cooked agave and heavy oak. Decent pour, would not spend the price for this bottle at the store personally. ”

“Javier’s Cantina, Las Vegas Fruit and leather on the nose. Reminds me a a lot of El Tesoro XA nose wise. Palate is a great even keeled cooked agave balanced with a little pepper and delicious leather notes with oak on the backend. I really really enjoyed this! ”

“Javier’s Cantina, Las Vegas The agave is faintly there for the nose, a little buttery as well which is a nice change of pace.. slight oak and alcohol linger. Definite oak on the palate with some pepper and a tiny bit of anise. Finish’s dissipates quickly on the back, easy drinking. ”
