“Light color and a decent nose. Flavor was muted and fine, but didn’t really get a lot out of the taste (basic agave, oak, pepper, and barrel notes. Finish was short and sharp and I was actually hoping that it would be a bit sweeter. ”

“Wonderful nose. Super sweet, so not my favorite style of XA. ”

“This was aged in a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel and I was genuinely impressed. Super easy to drink and still maintains a great agave flavor with barrel influence. A little muted on the nose so I wasn’t expecting much, thin to medium mouthfeel, and some spices and black pepper on the finish but the 3 glasses I had were excellent - smooth, tasty and very enjoyable finish that keeps you coming back for more. I am really surprised that the ratings are not higher on this as it goes for $30-$45 for a single barrel anejo that is a steal (value score reflects this). Will continue to taste. Continued tasting with the rest of the bottle and it is still good but maybe a little less exciting than the first impression. A fine anejo but not excellent.”

“Great nose, but muted. Super sweet and a little candy flavor on finish. Very unique and tailored to a very specific palate. ”

“Okay, but not my favorite. Nose and taste was fine but finish was lacking and had something that just definitely did not agree with my palate. Tasted at Momento Cantina in a tasting flute.”

“Tasted at Momento Cantina. Definitely picked up on the extra proof. Nice nose and mouthfeel but the finish definitely shows the extra strength. Okay, but not my preferred style.”

“Solid pour overall, a little thin and not overly oaky.”

“Nice golden color and a solid nose of cooked agave and vanilla. I was a little disappointed in the taste, as it is pretty muted overall with sweet, salty/briny, with a little pepper at the end. Short finish that is quick and easy but I guess I was just expecting more from this offering. Definitely on the sweet side, but not necessarily fake sweetness. At $55, it is a bit much but will probably be great in a margarita due to the muted flavors and sweetness. Had it more and just couldn’t get into it neat. Will try in cocktails.”

“Lot 172-B. Just incredible. Haven’t been able to have it in several years, and this bottle is nearly perfect. Flavor is bright and floral, with sweetness, complexity, and depth. Finish is nearly flawless. Small points off for value as I bought for $74.99 after not being able to buy it for years due to the high demand. ”

“Really solid reposado that was an easy drinker. Extremely light color, not a huge aroma, and went down without a very discernible taste or flavor. Mild reposado, but pleasant. Tasted agave, brine, grass, minerals, with a little black pepper and bitter finish at the end. ”

“First pour, so will need to revisit: Huge aroma with tons of cooked agave and minerals. Taste was more of the same with pepper and even some briney flavor. Very viscous and a long lasting flavorful finish. Good value for $45 at Binny’s. Really nice blanco, but not my favorite one on the finish.”

“Tried this at a friend’s house for free, which is good since I wouldn’t have bought it for myself at $70. Muted, but nice aroma from the glass. Relatively easy taste with the basic agave and pepper on the palate, and a short finish. Very little oak/aging flavor from the barrel. Definitely a gimmick as a claro, but I had no problems with the pour as it was a nice taste that was sweeter than a blanco, but not really an anejo either. ”

“$55 at Binny’s. Not what I was expecting from an anejo, but I loved it. Very light in color, and agave forward on the nose. Huge flavor on the taste, and a ton of sweetness that I wasn’t expecting but really enjoyed. Finish was excellent and I could keep drinking this without any slowing down. Again, not a bold anejo with barrel/whiskey notes but a rather lighter style pour that still tastes like agave with natural flavors and sweetness (vanilla, oak, spice) picked up from the barrel.”

“Loved it on my first try. $40, so price is excellent for the pour. Full on sweet agave on the nose, terrific mouthfeel and a clean sharp finish. Exactly what a blanco should be. I’ll need to come back and dive into the flavors more, but it was an all around great taste that was balanced all the way through. Bought a second bottle and not as impressed as my first go around so dropped the score down a bit. Still very very good but not as excellent on the finish. ”

“Had over ice, so that helped. Mainly just agave and pepper with a sharp bite. Inexpensive and mass produced so you know what you are in for.”

“Drank side by side with Siete Leguas and enjoyed this more, but sadly not in my top 5 blancos. Not a huge nose, but a clean crisp taste with loads of mouthfeel and legs in the glass. Plenty of cooked agave shining through with a briny, salty, olives, minerals, and sweet flavor that also includes a chocolate note in the finish. Now that I write it down, there is a ton of flavors, aroma, and flavors happening in this one. ”

“Good aroma, nothing spectacular on the nose. Very oily and solid mouthfeel with a good finish. Lingering bite of agave and pepper on the finish, taste of chocolate and soil/minerals/stone as well . Very good overall but not my top 5 favorites. ”

“$30 for 700ml at Binny’s in Chicago. Nice full agave aroma. Initial bite and strong flavor with a decent peppery finish. Ok as a mixer but didn’t lobe it to sip on. ”

“Sharp, clean, bold flavor and taste that wasn’t my favorite for sipping and doesn’t lend itself for mixing. Tons of earth, minerals, agave, and brine in the taste. Too strong of a flavor for margaritas and some people will love this one, but not my favorite. Short clean finish. Bought for $35, good value.”

“Very light in the glass, faint aroma. Super easy to drink but I didn’t love the finish. Not hot just a little funky aftertaste. Great for cocktails, maybe even better than the blanco which is excellent. Starting to creep up in price for the 750ml.”

“Yes, I know it is full of additives and it has unnatural flavors. However it was very tasty and easy to drink. Not much happening on the nose, but the taste is super sweet and full of vanilla, cake batter, and butterscotch. Easy finish that is relatively quick and simple. Huge price tag, but was able to sample for free since a friend was gifted a bottle. Definitely not worth the price but an easy to drink tequila which some people will love and others will despise.”
