“Absolute bargain for the price (paid about $100) for a single barrel tequila aged almost 8 years. Very unique in that you do get very subtle wine notes from the wine barrel but agave remains present. Very enjoyable tequila which certainly gets bonus points for value.”

Amatiteña Tequila Blanco
“An interesting tequila! Smoke is definitely front and center here in both the nose and taste. Upon first opening the bottle you can smell the smoke from a mile away. Once you let it open up it settles down allowing you to pick out some of the other notes. Nose: Smoke, minerals, agave (in that order) then if you dig a little deeper you get a bit of brine. Taste: pretty much identical to the nose, very honest tequila here. Finish is medium but found the smoke to really get in the way of everything else. Overall enjoyable tequila but I don’t think it’s for everyone. Worth experiencing in my opinion and also left me really intrigued to try some of their aged expressions that I think would definitely balance the smoke.”

Fortaleza Blanco (Still Strength)
“Agave is the star here, no question ( as it should be). Pleasant herbal notes with a hint of pepper with a delicious oily viscosity. Had it next to the regular blanco and while that one is good this one blows it out of the water. Much nicer mouthfeel on this one and the natural sweetness of the piñas really shines thru more than on the regular blanco to the point where I felt less alcohol burn from this despite being higher proof. Would definitely recommend ”

Rey Sol Extra Añejo
“Fantastic on the nose with strong scent of dried fruit, particularly dried fig. Hint of wood on the nose as well as vanilla. Wood much more present in the mouth feel and leaves a bit to be desired given how spectacular the nose is but excellent nonetheless. Smooth lasting finish. Great option for special occasions.”

“If you want to truly experience the smell and taste of agave, this is the one to try. Being a high proof it isn’t for the faint of heart but it’s surprisingly smooth with peppery spice flavor. Absolutely wonderful tequila.”
